Shaolin — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

I have been going to this restaurant for years for the good quality food and chilled atmosphere but recently I find the quality of the food (especially the fact that they serve unfreshed food) and service to be very bad.

I was there yesterday and we ordered two fried noodles with chicken, eggs and shrimps. Firstly, I was quite surprised when we were served our food in less than 5 mins after ordering even though the place was busy. When served, the food appeared less fresh. Nevertheless, we started eating our food as soon as we were served. To our big suprise, the food was cold and further down the plate the noodles were chilled. I called the server and pointed out my insatisfaction with the quality of the food and clearly stated that I expect to be served fresh food. They readily changed our plates. We were served a second time but this time they forgot to add shrimps to one of the plate. We waited again and this time we were served correctly our fried noodles with chicken, eggs and shrimps. However, once again the food looked unfreshed (I would say that we were served once again reheated food) and there were only 2 shrimps on our plate this time (to be noted that the first time we were served 4 shrimps on our plate). I really don't understand the logic. We ate whatsoever and when it was time to pay the bill, we noticed that we were charged more than the displayed price. I pointed out these differences to the server but she was indifferent and she didn't even apologise. It is a big shame that not only the food was bad but the customer service is very poor as well. On top of that, we happened to be sick (upset stomach and vomiting) the whole night with the food.

I'm clearly not going back to this place ever again and I strictly do not recommend at all this place. There are so many options at Caudan for food so better try the other options than this poor...

I had an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience at Shaolin Restaurant that I feel compelled to share. We went there for some drinks and food, but both the service and quality were far below acceptable standards.

The food itself was already disappointing — the crispy chicken and calamari were clearly stale and lacked freshness. However, what truly ruined the evening was the behavior of one of the waiters.

After we paid the bill by card and left the restaurant, a waiter suddenly ran after us in public, shouting that we hadn't paid. This was incredibly humiliating and completely uncalled for. Despite us assuring him that payment had been made, he insisted and tried to force us to return with him. Thankfully, one of our friends was still at the table and was able to show the receipt to prove the bill had indeed been paid.

I returned to the restaurant to seek an explanation, but was met with even more rudeness and disrespect. The waiter acted arrogantly, showed no remorse, and argued with me as if I were at fault. This kind of attitude is disgraceful and completely unprofessional.

What’s even more concerning is how easily someone else in the same situation could have been pressured into paying twice — especially if they didn’t have someone to back them up or proof of payment immediately available. This kind of mistake and public humiliation is not only embarrassing but dangerous and financially unfair.

I do not recommend Shaolin Restaurant. The staff lack professionalism, respect, and basic customer service skills. No customer should ever be treated with such disrespect and...

Big Cheater and unprofessional

Food & service was good, I ordered 2.5 liter beer pitcher, which i found was only 2 liter. Due to Ice in the center of pitcher it looks 2.5 liter in pitcher but it was less than 2 liter. I asked waiter about that and he checked and agreed that it was less when served, then i asked him to serve me my remaining beer which was served. But on bill they charged for that particular beer which waiter gave me as it was the remaining beer. I asked the owner lady who does the billing about that and she rudely denied for any wrong doing so i told the waiter to tell her about the incident. Waiter told the lady that measurement of beer served was wrong, but instead they started arguing infront of me. Cashier lady asked me to pay whole amount which i paid beacause I didn't wanted to argue with her. It was my anniversary and took very wrong decision to get cheated by them.
