I'm a regular, mostly for takeouts but sometimes we dine in. Yesterday was my first try at the new address in the Super U Grand Baie complex, and I must say, I'm kinda disappointed. Now don't get me wrong, food is still good (didn't check if they still have the venison burger on the menu, that's usually my go to order), but the new place.. They lost that little something that made the Dalon grand baie popular, the decoration and setting at the previous address were so original, with all the colors and vintage objects.. and the waiter always had some kind words for us, I loved the 'ambience' there in la rue bazar.. Now that's the choice of the new proprietor I guess, but it's just plain white walls, less tables than at the ancient address and they are kind of hidden in the complex. That warmth and 'feel at home away from home' feeling are definitely gone. No more waiter (??), now you have to place your order inside, then come back in to pick up your food when the lady rings a bell... I'll still go for take outs I guess, but dining in is no more appealing (plus the super juices mix are gone :(
Now it is just another (good) address for burgers and pizzas in grandbay, doesnt really stand out from the rest as it was before. I know I am not a fan of the new setting, but give it a try, don't let my nostalgia...

I had specifically asked for it to be well-done, but sadly it wasn’t as it was still pink in the middle. Nonetheless, it didn’t taste too raw/beefy, so I was able to finish my burger with no complaints! I have however had much nicer tasting beef burgers, hence one star lost. The honey-mustard sauce is an absolute delight and went really well with the chips. The price is a bit high for what it tasted like, so...
Read moreA relaxed, friendly spot for lunch or a coffee. The food is always good quality, there's a wide selection and the staff are efficient - all round a lovely experience. The restaurant is small so it might not be ideal for large parties and parking is a bit difficult, but there's always a spot or two on the side streets; alternatively you can park at the Grand Bay beach carpark and walk up to the cafe. Menus are in French and English and the accept card and cash. I would recommend the burgers and freshly made...
