Really disappointing. We were recommended by a friend to come here and try the Peking duck. Unfortunately, this dish only comes as a whole duck (no half or quarter size portions) and was $1450 rupees. We were quite shocked by this, most Chinese restaurants offering Peking duck will do a half or quarter. Since there was only two of us dining, we decided this was too much in terms of both quantity and cost, as we are staying at a hotel so wouldn’t even be able to takeaway leftovers. We were thus forced to instead order a few starters (fried squid, spring rolls, dim sum) and a noodle dish to share. We eat these dishes often and know we like them. The dim sum only came with one variety of dumpling, as they were sold out of the other, and were luke warm at best. The “spicy” fried squid was not spicy at all, and was tasteless and chewy. The spring rolls were average, weirdly containing cheese which we’ve never seen before? After we had these, they clearly forgot our noodles, and we waited for about half an hour for this dish before asking where they were. They eventually came after us asking, however were again cold and tasteless. We watched other tables getting plates of food that looked like the dishes we ordered but had much more generous and fresh looking portions. We also got 2 glasses of wine (red wine, which for some reason was served cold?). The total bill for this was $2000 rupees, the second most expensive bill of our holiday thus far. A ridiculous amount to pay for such a small amount of average food. The service was poor, we had to wave them down several times after waiting for a long time to make orders. I’m giving it 2 stars instead of just one because I’m sure if we had had the opportunity to try the Peking duck, it probably would’ve been really nice. It’s a shame we won’t be going...
Read moreVERY POOR SERVICE. Went there today and EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Giving one star but that is also too much..if only I could give minus🙄😓 First of all, the waiter and waitress was very unfriendly and not welcoming at all. They restaurant was almost empty but she said it's all reserved and gave us a corner table but till the time we left it was as empty🤷🏻♀️. Secondly the napkins on our table were very dirty and seemed like have not been washed for quite some time. It took almost 15 mins for the waiter to come take our orders. Upon ordering we got our drinks after 30 mins and food took another 20 mins...and that's just for 2 people 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😒. they are severely understaffed for a huge restaurant like that (barely 4). We ordered crispy calamari, veg fried rice, fish fillet in sweet and sour sauce and green vegetables with mushroom. Only the calamari and the fried rice were good. But the fish fillet was way too sweet as if it's dipped in ketchup sauce and the green vegetables had only brede tompuce and barely any mushroom😠. Also they said they don't serve bread at all when we have always got a side of bread basket earlier when we had gone. Overally very poor and an absolute downgrade in service...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER! From the welcoming till the end everything was wrong. The room is too dark... it didn't make me want to stay there. Even the waiters seemed like they didn't want to be there (all of them) not one smile on their face.
FOOD: Food wasn't great either considering what you are paying for. I ordered the seafood hot and sour soup and for the price it didn't taste great. There was barely any seafood in it and the soup was more like a pho. I also ordered 2 portions of fried rice and the quantity served was not even enough for 2 persons. How do you explain that? On top of that frozen veggies were used. For the price you are paying you would think at least the ingredients were fresh. Not worth it for that price. As for the black bean chicken I could only see chicken but only one black bean! Portion was good on that one.
It makes me wonder why people are still going to a place like this where you are paying for something that is just not worth it. I wouldn't even give it 1 star. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone nor am I ever...
