Restaurant Lai Min — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

visited Lai Min last Saturday with a group of six adults, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. We started with crispy calamari and salt and pepper starters, which came in very small portions and lacked flavor—definitely not worth the price.

For the main course, two of us ordered the special upside-down bowl, which arrived cold and was mostly leafy greens with barely any shrimp. The rest of the group had Thai rice and three different mains:

The chicken with mushrooms was bland and had almost no sauce.

The spicy prawns were overloaded with carrots and had very few prawns, especially considering the high price.

The chop suey fish was mostly cauliflower and onions, with very little fish and again, barely any sauce—making it dry and hard to eat with rice.

The total bill came to Rs 4090, and sadly, the food did not live up to the cost. We expected better quality and taste...

Not deserve even 1 star. Got there with family member during mid march for an important meeting, they were not professional and the food was extremely bad. For a "bol renverser" guest what we got? A plain white rice with some "brede and boute poule bouille" there were no egg nor other ingredients. We were extremely disappointed, pay Rs180 for a duriz ek bouillon brede instead of a real bol renverser. Was very bad. We tried the Chinese grill which is something new in Mauritius. It was delicious, each type of meat marinated to perfection and ready for you to cook to your liking on the table BBQ.
