Please note that this is NOT a vegan restaurant--it's a restaurant with a vegan menu. It's kind of upsetting that they advertise it as such because it's just not true. That being said, the food was good, but not worth the price.
For starters, the coconut ceviche was quite odd. The pinnacle of a good ceviche is that the ingredients are chopped and in the same size so that the flavors blend properly, effectively, and equally. This ceviche had huge chunks of coconut, whole blueberries, and pieces of cherry tomato, so it was a bit all over the place. The taste could have been better, as it was very sour.
Next, the gnocchi was good and you could tell it was homemade and very fresh. However, the pesto sauce was also very sour and citric and overpowered the sweet taste of the gnocchi.
Finally, I had the guava cheesecake. The crust was probably my favorite part of it. The accompanying wasabi sorbet, however, did not pair well at all with the cheesecake. It was extremely salty and honestly just tasted like wasabi ice. If you are going to make a sweet and salty dessert, the sweet portion needs to be significantly sweeter than the salty portion so that the flavors can balance each other out. Here, the cheesecake was not very sweet at all--which by itself is great! But not with a super salty wasabi sorbet. I also had the maracuya mocktail which was great.
Ambient wise, even though I requested a table as far away from the smoke as possible, the smoke was very overwhelming. My clothes and hair reeked of smoke after which was not ideal. At one point, a worker walked around the tables burning sage, which isn't very convenient when you're trying to eat.

Read moreThere are both pros and cons to this restaurant. I dined there with two friends and while two of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal the third person did not. The meals began with a sample of kombucha to taste. It was good. Small cups of soup were served with each meal and were also very tasty. The menu had a nice assortment of dishes to choose from. One of my friends and I chose the okonomiyaki. We both found it very good. My other friend chose the Tom yum Raman which just happen to be the most expensive dish on the menu but was also terrible. It was made with vermicelli and not ramen noodles and was in a oily, watery soup lacking any taste. The restaurant needs to seriously think about removing this dish from the menu or learning how to properly prepare it. Dinner concluded with tea and a tiny coconut ball for desert. The staff was very pleasant, the atmosphere nice and the prices reasonable. One very important final note. The waiter said that one of the dishes could be prepared with egg. This is suppose to be a plant based restaurant and there are no eggs in a true vegan restaurant. Having said all that, I would rate the restaurant tied for first of the four vegan restaurants...
Read moreSadly, not a good food experience during our stay in Mexico by far. I don’t know if the waiter was new, but he was terrible - the other table had to remind him to serve us, he had completely forgotten about our table.
Well, at least the food will be great, right? Or so we thought. We had ordered Okonomiyaki maki, Jamaican tacos and Gnocchi. After an almost 1 hour wait time the food arrived. The presentation was excellent, but everything tasted just bland, devoid of flavors. It seemed like they avoid using salt at all costs. The only okay food were the tacos, but really nothing to write home about. I always finish every meal because I dislike wasting food. But I couldn’t finish maki. It tasted like it was made two days before and put in a fridge. The gnocchi tasted like something you make at home when you forget about using any salt and spices.
When it was time to pay, the waiter forgot we had any meal and billed us the drinks only. I had to remind him and name every food we had. Very strange as there were like 4 tables total.
You can borrow jenga tower, cards and other small games there, so at least you won’t get too bored during...
