This is now one of my new favorite places. First of all, the staff is amazingingly helpful, especially Saul and Mariana. No one makes you feel like you're taking up too much of their time, even when they're busy. Secondly, the food (even though this place is renowned as a "bar") is delicious and lovingly prepared. The torta cochinita pibil is a slow-roasted pork (originally from the Yucatan) is delectable. The spinach and black olive pizza had a lovely, flaky crust. Don't let appearances (from the photo) fool you: just because the "spinach" (which actually isn't spinach but is chaya, otherwise known as the Mayan tree spinach, and has more nutrients than "traditional" spinach!) wasn't cooked didn't make it unpalatable. Quite the contrary. We were fighting over the last piece! And, finally, their signature drink: the El Buen Gin, which is truly one very good gin and tonic. I generally avoid trying gin and tonics in most places as they either are using a poor gin and/or tonic or their proportions are off.
