BEWARE this is a tourist trap! The establishment main focus is to upsell their menu. The food is just OK but the prices do not reflect. 1- Person in our party inquired about a specialty Mexican drink which contain different types of meats. The waiter understood and assured us they had this. We ordered 2. 2- I ordered water and everyone ordered beers. They gave us 6 bottles of water one for each person. I thought OK, just a bottle of water, can’t be expensive. Everyone had their drinks except for the two in the party that requested the specialty drink. We inquired if their drink will arrive soon. The waiter pointed to one of the beers on the table and said that’s the specialty drink. There was only one but we were so confused that we didn’t even think that we had ordered two so why is there only one on table…so we asked them to cancel the two orders for the specialty drink. The waiter advised it was too late since its alread made. When the bill arrived we realized that the waiter placed an order for the most expensive plate on the menu…$200 a plate! We ordered TWO. AND it wasnt even good!! And the most expensive 6 bottles of waters. In all there should not have been a miscommunication issue because the person placing the order and inquiring about the drink was a native Spanish speaker and only spoke Spanish with the staff. There were three spanish speakers in our group of six! We split the bill 4 ways and I inquired if the tip had been included in the bill. The waiter said no, the tip was not included. I said ok we will tip in cash. And when the receipts came back for our signature, the denomination had changed and they decided to add their own tip. Wouldn’t have noticed because the bill was split four ways but if you really look at it and add it up it wasn’t the same total of the bill presented to us. Upon leaving the restaurant the waiter chased us down and stated that it wasn’t enough tip. Check the prices and make sure you inspect your bill and do the math to make sure its all correct or just stay away from this...
Read moreDespite reservation, poor check in experience. Left waiting at front door for table (despite numerous tables available).
Atmosphere OK - open air restaurant, Very hot. Service warm, friendly and welcoming but delays experienced for a relatively simple order (table for two). We asked waiter for recommendations and he selected the most expensive item on menu.
Food very mediocre. Ordered Tostaditas, Gorditas and Fajitas. Two of three dishes were tasteless. Chicken Fajitas with peppers notable for no taste whatsoever and the chicken was very dry.
Following a 1 hr 40 service it was time to leave.
Our waiter (Jesus) asked us whether we wanted to tip using credit card or with cash. Warning sign - how presumptuous.
As we were disappointed with meal quality, we left a very small tip. Our waiter took particular issue with this including an aggressive confrontation on the stairs. Almost comical given he didn’t return with drinks menu on two occasions and we waited the time that we did for food.
I can’t help but feel this is a tourist trap, particularly when comparing the USD amount on bill vs the current exchange rate. If you pay USD you are being overcharged! Food and service is not up to scratch, particularly where tips are demanded. Would not recommend! There are far better...
Read moreI AM SO HAPPY THEY OPENED A LOS TRES GALLOS IN SAN JOSE!!!!!
So I have always loved the Los Tres Gallos in Cabo. Some of the best food in all of Baja California. Now that they have opened one up in San Jose its even better. The reason I like it even better is because San Jose is such a unique artsy town and you feel safer there then in Cabo walking the streets at night (not getting harassed at every corner) ASLO TRY TO GO ON A THURSDAY IF YOU CAN!!!!! The entire town is so lively and fun, all the art galleries, jewelry store and so many other cool shops open on THURSDAYS at night and its basically a big Fiesta down there. From where we were staying in the Golden Corridor it was about a 30 min drive to get down there in our rental, which is so worth it in my opinion. I got the Totoaba this time and it was great (after the 10th day in Cabo its nice to have something that's not Sea Bass or Mahi) make sure you get the Cesar Salads as well, I thought it was better then Ediths but my girl couldn't decide which one was better. Lastly don't forget to get the Clase Azul Margarita. Yes I know, before you think it, its kind of a disgrace to put such good Tequila in a margarita but who cares you are probably on vacation and you aren't gonna get a smoother margarita anywhere. See...
