I have eaten here many time and had wonderful meals. I love supporting the local restaurants and am not one to usually complain or send back anything but i think this experience warrants a bad review.
Eating there with my friend we ordered some things to share and one was the fish carpaccio. We both took a bite and found it to taste really bad and I didn’t even want to swallow my first bite. The fish didn’t taste fresh and had a very fishy taste paired with it being really cold in the middle as if It was frozen and then thawed out. I told them the dish was bad and neither of us could eat it.
What should have been a simple we are sorry you don’t like it turned into the owner coming to our table to yell at us. Trying to prove a point that the fish is fresh running to the kitchen to grab the plate of fish to show in our face that we are wrong.
Regardless if the fish was fresh or not it didn’t taste good and neither of us could eat it. I don’t think that warrants being yelled at and being belittled in the restaurant so the owner could...
Read moreI am a self-proclaimed Pizza expert. My mother of Napliton origins made home made pizza that family and friends raved. My uncle Charlie made Sicilian pizza. I ate pizza in Rome, Naples, Venice, Sicily, Paris, Bronx, New Jersey, and many many more. We make our own pizza. Truly, the pizza at RomAntica is by far the BEST I have ever had. I make homemade pasta, the pasta dishes at RomAntica bring me back to childhood days when those preparing the dinners were all immigrants from Italy, so original and delicious. Further, the non-pasta dishes and desserts are also quite delicious, I recommend the carpaccio for starters with a Negroni and the tiramisu for finales. The wine and beverage selection adequately compliments the food selection. The atmosphere is open and friendly, I actually met the granddaughter of Rudolf Valentino as well as other locals and travelers. The service here is efficient, courteous and friendly. The costs are quite reasonable compared to the quality of meal. We always look forward to our next festivity...
Read moreLong story short, after our first bite of lamb chops we realized they were FROZEN. I quickly spat them out and even showed the waiter. He refused to refund us.
The night before we had a nice dinner at Pizza Romantica and loved the food so we decided to go back a second time. Unfortunately the second time we had a terrible situation where our lamb chops were literally FROZEN... ice cold. We explained to the manager and he took over 10 minutes to come to our table to check out the situation. We were quite disgusted so we nicely requested if we could get a pizza instead. He refused without consulting his superior 'Asalia' first and then it escalated to the point where they wanted us to pay without even eating our meal! (which by the way was reheated during COVID).
We left having spent the money, very hungry, and got some street tacos. So much for a wearing a nice outfit and wanting to treat ourselves to a nice...
