Hotel Wellintown Tijuana — Hotel in Baja California

Great location and a newer place. Thats the good news. The room was uncomfortably small and the bathroom smelled like you know what. They charged $20 for early check in. The room had no towels, and after repeatedly calling the front desk, we hunted down the maid and finally got two. Later we romanced two more towels. Then there was a power failure that lasted all night and the morning. The place was silent. I had no idea if anyone from the staff was manning the desk. No window to the outside of the place, so we moved the next day and checked out. They refused to refund the 2nd day. At first they agreed to and offered a voucher for 2 days but later reneged on that plan. By then I did not want to go there again, even for free. The only reason I am giving it one star is because it won’t allow a 0 star. Firstly, their customer service is unbelievably mediocre at best. I attempted to speak to the front desk regarding my reservation, and the person hung up on me. I called again and tried to speak with someone, yet they were aggressive and would cut me off when I was trying to speak. I decided I wanted to cancel my reservation due to their false advertising, and the employee would not want to give me a refund and hung up on me again. I attempted to call quite a few times after that and they no longer answer my call. They took my money and I do not even know if they cancelled the reservation, or any information because they refuse to answer. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT book here. The staff is courteous and service-oriented. The room was decent, a bit noisy on the 3rd floor but they have quiet rooms, but they did everything to accommodate me. Next time I’ll ask for one. The property has a 5th floor with outside jacuzzis that can be reserved, as well as a gym and sauna. Everything was clean and relaxing. They have a massage table but I did experience it this time. The bar has good food and great service. The location is centric, a few steps from Avenida Revolution. I went out to a concert on Friday and dinner on Saturday night at the best taqueria the hotel recommended. La Revolution was crowded, and there were police everywhere.
