We walked by Taconazo on our way to the famed Tacqueria El Franc, which we love and consider one of the best tacos on the planet. We saw a good-sized crowd with no wait and figured we'd stop by. It turned out to be a great decision.
Adobada seems like the thing to get in Tijuana, and I wanted to see how it compared with other shops. I got one adobada taco and an adobada mulita with a corn tortilla. There was a mixup with our order and we ended up with an extra mulita with flour tortilla - on the house thanks to our super cool waiter.
The adobada taco was fantastic, and I could easily eat four of them if I wanted. I don't feel that the meat is as flavorful compared to Taqueria El Franc, but the fresh-tasting tortilla was a standout. With the table-side salsas and a squeeze of lime, this is a great taco.
The adobada mulita was the real star of the meal. It's basically a mini UFO of juicy pork and melted cheese, you can't go wrong here. I preferred the flour tortilla vs. the corn here, as the neutral flavor of flour works better with melted cheese for me. The texture was super delicate, honestly one of the best tortillas I've ever had.
I stupidly forgot to order a vampiro taco and look forward to returning for one. Until then, highly recommend Taconazo if you've already had...
Read moreWe Sep. 23, 2022 around midnight. I got adoobada, asada, cabeza and a quesadilla. I taste the meat first by itself before I eat at a new place. I didn't like any one. I also didn't like the light green colored cream they put on the adobada one. The asada one had regular guacamole but it needed flavor. The asada meat flavor was bearly even there. I asked for the cabeza taco without salsa but they gave it to me with salsa. I didn't say nothing so I just ate it. That one was the most normal flavored meat from what I had chosen. Besides the food, I liked that the young staff members moved very fast but I disliked that they kept messing around each other like if they where in middle school a lot, it was very distracting and I'd be annoyed if I was the owner. We went there because our normal taco place on 9th street next to Oxxo and in front of Arco gas station was cleaning up as we got there (11:30) so we wanted to try this Taconazo place. My husband didn't like his tacos either he got adobada and asada. I don't understand why it was so crowded. Maybe because it's the only one open and safe at that time of night. First time and...
Read moreHonestly the worst place I’ve ever eaten in tijuana. First of all, the really problem was the server. He was absolutely rude, I could not even believe how rude someone from the restaurant industry could be. Since I know Mexico has an amazing costumer service especially in restaurants because people make their living out of tips. Last night I went w my cousins 3 girls, as soon as we sat down the server came up super rude, we ignored it, until the forth time, I requested a new server, I informed the server the other person was absolutely rude and if I could talk to the manager, but ofc a taqueria don’t have such things lol. Anyways, when I went to pay i told the cashier what had happened and she responded with “ oh si? Ah”… lol 0 tip for them, sadly tips are shared but it’s none of my problem. The rude man was a guy with 4 pounds of hair gel on his hair and a covid face mask, he was older, probably 40-50 yo. Dark skin, baggy pants , and a very bad attitude :/ Didn’t get a...
