New hotel, but is extremely unsafe if you're not a local to Mexico. I had a dispute with a local about a certain transaction, and when we could not reach an agreement the other party started blackmailing me. They actually send in a local gangster to assault me with a metal pipe. You know what this hotel did? The moment they heard about a dispute, they will kick you out of the room without even trying to side it with their guests. On top of this, they actually handed my document (California Driver License) to the local blackmailer. Imagine if I had deposited my passport instead. So by staying at this hotel, I received: +Kicked out of my room 6 hours earlier +Lost my CA Driver License since they handed it to local gangster instead of me, its rightful owner (once again, they didn't ask, just gave the blackmailer more tools to use against me) +An assault battery with a minor concussion (metal pipe). Then I got ferried by local Policia to the station for some First-Aid and then to PedWest crossing. +Spent the rest of my day in an ER in the USA since I was afraid of the concussion (metal pipe straight to the cheek)
This story sounds wild, so take that as you will because I lost money, times, and health since the hotel refused to side with their customers or even involved the local Policia (they arrived after my head was dizzy and almost...
Read moreI stayed at Kaye8 for one night at the tail end of a a trip in Mexico. I specifically booked here because it’s close to cafes, restaurants and shopping- the location is unbeatable. The rooms are very nice, big beds - not soft, not firm, just a perfect middle ground mattress, tv, air conditioning. Nice/clean bathrooms that come with complimentary soaps, shampoo and conditioner. I agree with other reviews- it appears they are still building and working on the minor details of each space. I honestly like the open space look, but I can see how business travelers might want a desk or table or something for work. I ended up watching movies and having takeout, but it is close to many bars and the main strip. I’m a single female traveler and felt safe. The city noises did not bother me, but it is a busy area. For future travelers, although I wake up early, be aware that they are still in the process of building half of the hotel so construction does start early, you WILL hear construction noises. My only very minor objection is the room I stayed in was very fragrant, not bad, but as someone who is sensitive to strong perfumes, I just had to open a window. No big deal. It’s very clean!! That staff was very friendly. I will...
