If you’re a pizza aficionado, Capri Pizzeria Moderna is a must-visit. Nestled in the heart of the hotel zone, this charming spot combines authentic Italian flavors with a welcoming atmosphere. When we visited, it was their soft opening in mid-September. From the moment you step in, the aroma of freshly baked dough and rich tomato sauce sets the stage for an unforgettable meal.
The menu boasts a variety of options, the pizza is center most along with unique salads. No pasta here, but there are meatballs available.
The thin crust strikes a perfect balance between crispy and chewy, while the sauce is fresh and tangy. The prosciutto is melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
We started the limoncello spritz, which was a special for 2 for 1, the grilled peach, prosciutto & burrata salad with a set of three meatballs on the side. In retrospect, this was more that enough for the two of us. The tender, juicy meatballs came in a mild red sauce with bread. The salad was large and more than enough for the two of us. Fresh arugula topped with a wonderful but mild balsamic reduction dressing.
For those who like to mix things up try the Amalfi Coast pizza. The pizzas are about 12” diameter. This one came with extra virgin oil, big chunks of fior di latte mozzarella, thin sliced prosciutto, burrata and lemon zest. A wonderful crust that was light and airy on the outside, but thin and light underneath. They supply a set of cutting sheers to facilitate serving portions of the uncut pizza.
Service here is attentive without being intrusive, and the staff genuinely seems to care about your dining experience. The ambiance is relaxed, with a warm, rustic decor that makes it an ideal spot for both family dinners and romantic dates. If you’re in the area and craving a slice of pizza perfection, Capri Pizzeria Moderna is worth a visit. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that’ll have you coming back for more. Pizzas are priced starting at 320 pesos, salads start at 295 pesos. And yes, they have to go boxes for enjoying the leftovers the next day. Located next to OXXO and across Blvd Kukulcan from the Mayan Monkey. Opens at 3pm
From the management “Our pizzas are cooked at 470C using 48hr sourdough made with Pizzuti Costa d’ Amalfi flour. For our sauce we use San Marzano DOP tomatoes, and for cheese Sorrentino Fresh Mozzarella. All mentioned are imported from Napoli. Pizzas are...

Hands down Tiramisu was fire🔥 wish I tried all the other desserts but we were stuffed at the end.
If you are a fan of the famous Carajillo like I am in Mexico, you have to try the pistachio carajillo. 10/10 wow!! I really enjoyed the spritzers too! Light And refreshing
Normally I would gravitate to a typical burrata salad 🥗 but they had this other salad I don’t remember the name but the picture I posted with the tomato’s, in house grown basil with their olive oil tasted delicious. A favourite. Something in the dressing was different, it was really good.
We had the capri Margherita pizza 🍕 which was a classic and really good. We also tried this other pizza. I forget the name, but they had some gnocchi on there. myself personally I’m not a gnocchi fan so I could’ve done without it and just had a good classic pizza, but if you are an gnocchi fan it was still very tasty the seasoning in the sauce.👌
Honestly all the pastas were delicious. My favourite was the one with burrata cheese and the other rigatoni pasta 🍝 with I call it crack sauce since I can’t remember the name. But it’s the photo that was half eaten before I forgot I took the photo. The flavour on that one was so good.
I wish I tried all the desserts. But I was stuffed. I have actually ordered from them via Uber eats to the hotel and I would say eating in as a whole different experience. It tastes way better eating it fresh!
Fortunately, we had the chance to meet the owner during the dining experience and he was super nice and told us, he imported most of the items from Italy and grew their herbs in house, which you can tell once you start eating the food. Overall, amazing food and atmosphere. definitely Will satisfy your Italian craving with a beautiful view 10 out of 10. Thanks Capri!...
Read moreI have eaten here on two separate occasions. Hands down the best pizza in Cancun. The dough/crust is light, flavourful and has some nice char on the crust and undercarriage. My favorite pizza was the Margherita, it was simple and had lots of flavor and texture to indulge in. The five cheese and the mushroom/truffle are both delicious, but I prefer a red sauce and the price is hard to justify considering its a small/medium size pie.
The pepperoni pizza is great, but I recommend ordering it without the sweet sauce topper that they add, its absolutely not needed if you like classic pepperoni.
The roasted beet root appetizer was excellent. It had a fresh unique flare with skinless grapefruit pieces, fresh green garnish, pistachio crumbles on a bed a of delicate mascarpone and ricotta cheese sauce.
The restaurant itself was well decorated restaurant with modern touches in decor and lighting.
It was a slow night in the restaurant, the staff was friendly but they may not check up on you once you get your food. They might be the type of staff you need to flag down to get their attention.
Definitely a must try spot located next door to famous "The Surfin Burrito".
Advice: ask for olive oil to dip the delicious crust into.
I give them 4 stars primarily because of price to pizza size ratio...
