Room got a 4-star, 10th floor King bed/ was clean and comfortable, we did like that it had a ceiling fan, but we requested turn down service and spoke with someone and said it will be done... we were out all day for an activity and our room was not cleaned when we arrived back. be ready to wait 20 or more minutes for the elevators, all hours of the day...we complained to staff their excuse was busy hour people are checking in and out. was not true as the elevators were constantly a headache for waiting very long periods to go up or down. Elevators have no Air conditioning very hot inside, and everyone tries to squeeze into 1 elevator which adds to the heat with body heat since everyone knows if you don't catch this elevator you will have to wait even longer. Lobby also has limited air conditioning, on the 10th floor lobby as we waited for the elevator coffee/ drink spills on the floor which lasted 2 days until it was cleaned up. Main lobby elevator was always wet with water puddles due to people in and out of the pool/ocean, I never seen anyone drying it up. Food at the buffet was mediocre, we had breakfast lunch and dinner at the buffet. Cold items were warm not on enough ice, food was not covered at all. Omelet station looked good, but we don't eat pork or breakfast meat, they prepare the omelets on the same grill they make ham, bacon and sausage on reason for us not being able to try. which any resort that has many people checking in from all walks of life should really consider that not all people eat pork or meats in the morning. Definitely would recommend a Vegan omelet station. We also made a reservation for the steakhouse, salty food very subpar for a steakhouse. but their onion soup was good despite too much salt. Bar lounge food was horrible we had one look and 1 bite and we walked out, frozen food that is microwaved or placed in air fryer to seem as if its prepared fresh but definitely isn't. Food definitely is not authentic to the Latin cuisine/ just frozen foods. Most guests did not exercise manners as they would have their personal speakers playing their music very loud in the main lobby and having their personal parties on the lounge furniture in the lobby, no hotel staff was regulating that. yelling, very loud voices, profanity. One night as we walked out the elevator to head to dinner offsite a fight between two men was erupting as they were using profanity and about 4 females were trying to hold them back from hitting each other. not a classy establishment. The bartenders seemed annoyed and drained from the constant requests of drinks after drinks, no form of structure or system at the bars, if you were waiting 5 min for the bartender to finish his current order another person would crowd you and yell at the bartender to serve them immediately! overlooking the fact that you were waiting patiently. No tips were being given to staff. my partner and I seemed to be the only ones who tipped with gratitude for their service. Not a tranquil classy establishment if that's what you're looking for in Cancun. guests were belligerent drunk and out of control, lifeguard had to pull out guests form the pool from being drunk and practically drowning in the pool and had to be wheeled chaired out to see medical staff. Profanity being yelled out all day every day at the pool. When trying to lay on the beach on a lounge chair all you hear is yelling and obscene words. forget about trying to enjoy the pool unless you want to see inappropriate dances and smacking each other's butts and breasts and or flashing each other at the pool area. Pool water at the main pool was very cloudy and definitely very dirty, I'm sure guests were urinating in it daily...as the restrooms at the pool area were never busy, and you would think with all these people drinking drink after drink for hours on end will need to use the restroom form time to time... but no line was ever seen for a restroom stall, practically rarely seen anyone using the facilities. This place Definity does not rank a 5-star. more...

I came here for my birthday and had a great experience! The hotel is beautiful and my room was so nice and huge! I love that it’s walking distance to all of the clubs downtown. I booked an ocean view room with the diamond club and my Butler Daniel was very kind and extremely helpful! He sent me the schedule for the day each day as well as made sure I had everything I needed in my room. Yoli was a waitress in the Diamond club lounge and she was so kind and helpful every time I saw her! Christian the bartender at the Diamond club pool was also awesome! They truly provided excellent service! I have to mention that we were on vacation during hurricane Milton which passed over Cancun. The hotels protocol for hurricane prep was excellent! Additionally they had indoor activities for us on the day it rained.
DIAMOND CLUB PROS: Access to premium alcohol at the Diamond club lounge, Diamond pool and the lobby bar only. You have a smaller pool area that only Diamond club members have access to as well as a roped off beachfront on one side of the resort. Your room comes with Butler service. The check-in/out process is in a private lounge stocked with alcohol and light snacks, almost tapas style.
DIAMOND CLUB CONCERNS: Although I had a wonderful time for my birthday, there are a few things that I noticed that I think could be improved OR at the very least clearly communicated to guests at the time of purchase. I purchased the diamond club because it gives you access to premium alcohol/ lounge and a butler.. but when you book your vacation it does not specify that you will have access to premium alcohol ONLY at the diamond club pool downstairs, the lounge where you check in/out of the hotel and the lobby bar. Once you go to any of the restaurants or the rooftop pool bar, there are no diamond club benefits.
ROOFTOP POOL CONCERNS: The only free seating available are these high top tables. There are no available lounge chairs for guests to place their towels and belongings for free. Our first day we went upstairs to an empty rooftop pool and put our things down and we were quickly chased off of the loungers by the staff. Kind of rude in my opinion but everyone has a job to do so I understand. If you’d like to use one of the lounge chairs you have to purchase a bottle which is silly considering I already paid for diamond club benefits which I learned at the resort mean nothing in certain areas on the property. I’ve been to resorts where they encourage bottle service and etc. but they always have a first come first serve lounging section if you don’t want/ need bottle service.
Food: The food was just OK in my opinion. The Italian restaurant was the best that we had the entire trip. The steakhouse, per my cousin was just OK. The buffet had a wide variety of food and they did have some vegetarian options which I do appreciate. For reference I’m a vegetarian and I’m allergic to shellfish. There was a pasta station at the buffet and one of the protein options was shrimp. The chef was using the same tongs for the shrimp as well as the vegetables. I would be mindful if you have allergies to pay attention to what you’re choosing as there is cross-contamination. the grill near the pool did not have many options and the options they had were not the best nor were they customizable. The sports bar had decent food and according to my cousin the wings were very good there. The sports bar also has hookah if you’re into that sort of thing. There is a veggie burger which is just OK. overall I would say the food is underwhelming.
OVERALL: Overall I did have a good time and I'm not against coming back but, BREATHLESS of soul in Cancun is still my first choice. I will say that my positive experiences outweighed the concerns outlined above (with the exception of the food) and the customer service aside from my one experience at the rooftop pool was excellent. I would give the resort a 3.5 out of 5 mainly due to the lack of disclosure regarding the restrictions of the diamond club as well as my...
Read moreNote to the reader: We were at this resort for 2 weeks, Dec 25th - Jan 8, 2025. It is a very nice resort but truly not worth the money that they charge. For this reason and explanation below, we would never return to this resort.
We did not purchase the Diamond club. After booking, we received an email from the resort stating that we could upgrade to diamond for a price of $3000.00 US per person. We declined and after two weeks there, are very grateful that we declined. We did not miss a thing and saved all this money.
Upon entering the room we were impressed. It is very clean, modern and spacious. The oceanfront rooms have an incredible view from every balcony. The mini bar....well there 4 cans of Pop, 2 beers, and nothing else! There are no munchies provided in your room or anywhere on this resort. If you want chips or snacks, they must be purchased from their tuck shop...for between $9.00 US for pringles and $12.00 for chips!!!( picture)
The beach is full of chairs and also chairs around the pool. We were there for 2 weeks and were never without. We did have an altercation one day with the "Pool Concierge" as he advised us was his title. This ignorant employee (picture) puts towels on chairs around the pool and when people come looking for chairs he advises them of his title and explains that only he can get you chairs for a TIP!!
Restaurants and food, Well....there are 6 places to eat . All of the food and these restaurants are OK.
On day 3 we ate at La Hacienda and ate the fish and the ceviche. The next day found that we both had food poisoning. We lost 1 1/2 days of our vacation sick in our room. We called room service and asked for 2 ginger ales delivered to the room as we were very very sick. They said "no" and told us to go down to one of the bars and get it. Can you imagine!!! Filed a complaint, nothing was done.
On New Years eve, we made a reservation at Vespa for 9:30 pm. When we arrived we requested a table outside, the hostess kindly said that all the tables were full. They then asked if we purchased a bottle table which We said no but were willing to purchase wine. We had some apps to start and then He approached us at 10:15 and asked if everything was ok. We then said that we were ready to order our dinner. We were shocked when he said that the kitchen was closed!! We had purchased a bottle of wine and had over half of the bottle on the table and no dinner on new years eve??? The manager came over and once again said the kitchen is closed. We explained that we were not advised and it was not fair that they made us buy a bottle of wine to get a table and then we do not get dinner or dessert. Nothing changed!!! We were shit out of luck but they got $100.00 US for a bottle of average wine.
The next day, we went to the front desk and filed a complaint. The manager of food and beverage came to talk to me. His name was Manuel. He apologized and said that he would make it right and get us a bottle of wine for our dinner tonight. I then mentioned that we came to this resort to celebrate our 25th anniversary and were quite disappointed and that were were looking at cancelling our last week and going to another resort. He ensured that our last week would be perfect and they would make it up to us. Absolutely nothing changed in our last week and nothing was said or done about our Anniversary.
It is very evident that they are trying to get as much money out of their guests but they are not offering anything amazing for it. We believe that the biggest problem with this resort is the lack of management. No one other than the regular staff are around. Smoking is everywhere and staff will not tell people not to smoke in seating areas. Vaping is throughout the resort and many of the guests are there only to get drunk, vape inside bars and restaurants and staff do nothing.
We would never return to this resort. We did not hate our vacation but having gone to many resorts in Cancun, there are many resorts that you will get much more...
