La Boulangerie — Restaurant in Cancún

The good part: cinnamon roll was yummy and enough for two people, wifi, staff nice Not good: cold brew looked like tea (watered down); they include the tip on the bill which is illegal in mexico (prohibited by profeco, their consumer protection agency); cleanliness was bad - my fork had food on it, the cloth seats were dirty and one had cake icing which we scraped off before sitting down, and the table was covered with a table cloth that makes me question how many times a week they change it as opposed to having a vinyl one that should be wiped after each customer. My girlfriend and I found this quaint, hidden gem of a cafe while in search of coffee, and we were pleasantly surprised with everything about it! The coffee itself was terrific of course, but the omelettes, customer service, and Parisian feel would bring us back anytime we’re in Cancun. The outside of the cafe gives off dystopian vibes, however, so don’t think you are lost while walking toward it - it’s not the fault of the cafe for weathering an economic downturn with a high quality product while their neighbors were unable to do the same. Found this little hidden gem by doing a Google Maps search. It had good reviews, so I stopped in. It is definitely off the main path. It's located in an alleyway behind the main street, so you basically have to be intentional in looking for it or accidentally stumble upon it.

Once you find it, the place is great. Staff was incredibly friendly. The pastries were delicious 😋. This is exactly the type of business that more people need to support, so maybe one day they can get a more visible location.
