Puerto Santo – A Sunset Dining Gem in Cancún
If you’re looking for a place to enjoy fresh seafood, sip on a tropical cocktail, and watch the sunset over the Caribbean Sea, look no further than Puerto Santo.
We came here in the late afternoon and were seated right on the sand, facing the ocean with a perfect view of the pier and glowing string lights. As the sky turned pastel pink and orange, the whole setting felt like something out of a movie — serene, romantic, and unforgettable.
🐟 What we ordered: • Ceviche: Bright, fresh, and zesty — the lime and red onion hit just right, and it paired perfectly with the crispy tortilla chips. • Crispy fried shrimp with rice: Crunchy on the outside, juicy inside — simple but satisfying. • Seafood rice in tumbala sauce: The highlight of the meal — flavorful, well-seasoned, with plump shrimp, mussels, and squid. • Grilled veggies and roasted octopus (served in a sizzling hot dish): Smoky, savory, and beautifully charred. • And of course, a grapefruit cocktail to top it all off — refreshing and not overly sweet.
The service was friendly and relaxed, matching the laid-back beach vibes. Prices were reasonable considering the generous portions and beachfront location.
⭐️ Final thoughts:
A perfect spot for a sunset dinner in Cancún. Come for the view, stay for the food — and don’t forget to bring your camera.

Read moreI went with a group of friends on a grad/birthday trip with my friends from university and heard very good things about Puerto Santo. So on my friends birthday we decided to go. Upon entering we let our waiter know ahead of time about the birthday. The meal was excellent and the atmosphere was great. At the end of our meal our waiter come with a piece of cake and poured our table some shots. All was going well until we got the bill. It had an added 2000 peso charge for the cake and shots. Had I known in advance about this charge I would have just told our waiter to not worry about it. After paying the bill I politely went up to the head of our section and expressed that it would be good to know about how expensive the birthday addition would be. He immediately got very defensive and a bit rude but did offer another round free of charge which I apprecaited. When he came to our table to give us the shots he was very cold and before leaving the table told us he forgot to put a bottle of water on the bill so he rang it up and tipped himself 20%. I really did enjoy the restaurant as the food was excellent and had a great vibe. But with our server having to get the last laugh by charging us for a bottle of water it really left a bad taste in my mouth and I felt I needed to...
Read moreI love this place after a day on the beach, as it is convenient, friendly and they are very nice to me and my guests. The man in my posted picture with my daughter seems like he may be the owner, but I havent asked him nor does it matter to me. Muy amable & sabroso!!! You can take it raw to go and prepare yourself, or for a tip they will clean it and deep fry it for you. I gave the old man frying a 50 peso tip for a kilo of shrimp and took 2 kilos of lobster to go. The frying oil looks dark and a first time tourist may cringe, but I am not that person and my Australian guest was fine with it. No one got sick and we enjoyed it on the spot. I had my own chairs from the beach and a cooler so we ate there. The place was full of locals and there was no extra chairs at 4pm. Chef, (I called him) also butterflies and deveined the shrimp. He is a sweet old man and is very grateful for the tips. The price we paid for lobster, and shrimp was ridiculously low, so why order the fish? I will eat there every time I visit the nearby beach, and will try the fish when they have no shrimps or lobster....
