A Perfect Last Night in Cancun – Family-Friendly & Absolutely Delicious!

We ended our Cancun vacation with dinner at Sasi Thai at the JW Marriott, and it was the best decision we could’ve made. Dining on the water with the sound of waves in the background made for a peaceful and unforgettable evening. The decor is stunning—thoughtfully detailed and even more magical as the night set in and the lanterns began to glow.

Our kids were reaching their limit with Mexican food (as much as we love it!), so we were thrilled to discover Sasi was offering a sushi special. My sushi-loving son begged us to go, and I’m so glad we said yes. He devoured the sushi sampler and then surprised us all by trying—and loving—every bite of the Thai dishes. He even ate four California rolls (thank you, buy one get one free!)—and this from a kid who had never tried Thai food before.

Our fried rice and chicken Pad Thai were fantastic—flavorful, fresh, and perfect for sharing. The mojitos and wine rounded out the meal beautifully.

What truly made the night special was our server, Ximena. She was so kind and attentive, especially with our kids. Her care, thoughtfulness, and warm hospitality made us feel completely taken care of.

I read reviews about this restaurant and it came very highly recommended by what people wrote. So a group of us were staying in Cancun and decided to check this place out on a Saturday evening. Let me begin to say that the level of service was astonishing. We were treated with dignity, all our requests were attended to, the staff was more than generous and also delightful. Just an example of what kind of service we received; we ordered a bottle of Whiskey on the table. They brought out 7 glasses for each one of us. After each one of us were done our drinks, they replaced our glasses with new ones and made sure we didn't use the same ones again. They also brought out bucket full of ice with a stand that they had beside our table with the bottle inside. They made sure that they covered all basis of customer service at this restaurant. Now for the food, I can say I've been to thousands of restaurants, all across the world, and I can say, I've NEVER been to a more authentic thai restaurant until I've been at Sasi Thai. The food was mouth watering, and infused with so much flavour that it brought out new taste buds on my tongue. Kudos to the chef at this place. Food: We ordered Sa-si Sampler, Gai Satay, Pha Thai, and Gaeng Phed Nua. I really liked Sa-si sampler because you get to try three different types of dumpling. My personal favorite was Gai Satay since the sauce and the chicken were tasty. However, you get only 6 sticks of chicken and that was not enough for me to fill full. Waiter: The waiter was super nice. She showed hospitality. Price: 110 USD for 4 meals (Sa-si Sampler, Gai Satay, Pha Thai, and Gaeng Phed Nua) with 3 drinks (Passion Fruit Martini, Lychee Martini, Sasi Mojito). The price was reasonable since we ordered a lot. Environment: I usually don't put too much emphasis on the environment but this place is different. It had a tropical wooden house. Even though it was outdoors, it wasn't hot and was very clean. We had a table right next to the ocean sunset. It was just beautiful!! My thoughts: I recommend Sa-si sampler since you get to try three different types of dumpling. You can't go wrong with Pha Thai but other foods that we ordered were also great.
