Sooooooooo so so so disappointed. Based on the reviews I made the effort to come find this place, and it was an effort. Not because the cute little alley way was more than maybe 50 stairs up but because I've been hiking the hills of these streets for days and I really didn't have any gas left in the tank to do more of it. Anyway, the reviews made me do it. When I got here, there was NO outside seating and the interior is small, dark and depressing. The menu is tiny. I ordered the chilaquiles, because it was one of six choices and seemed to be what everyone else here had ordered. There were no options for fruit or pastries or anything light. No fresh fruit juices. The coffee wasnt the worst but it wasn't good. It was served in a large american-sized mug which was surprising, not in a bad way.
Bottom line, if you're starving or just a big eater (no judgment!) and have a craving for a huge platter of chilaquiles, prefer a non-english speaking joint (I do), and do not care about ambience, then come on here. If you've read the hundreds of reviews that rave about the hidden, narrow, mural filled outdoor experience, and that is what draws you, don't...

Discovered this place thanks to its high ratings. It’s a charming little spot, especially nice for outdoor dining.
I ordered chilaquiles with one egg and pressed pork. The portion was generous and the flavors were solid, but unfortunately, it was only served warm. The café de olla was also flavorful and aromatic, though again, served warm and at $70 a cup, I found it a bit overpriced for no refills.
Breakfast meals are priced around $150–170, which I’d say is fair for the quality and setting.
Service was very friendly and attentive, but also quite slow — definitely a place to visit when you’re not in a rush.
Overall, while the atmosphere and presentation were enjoyable, the food temperature and slow pace make it hard to rate more than average.

Read moreI recently visited this restaurant with specific dietary preferences: I avoid animal products. Despite this, I found that nearly all their dishes, including seemingly vegetarian options like beans, were prepared with animal products. For instance, their beans are cooked with pork.
When I ordered a chilaquiles sandwich, I emphasized my dietary restrictions to the waiter and inquired specifically about the beans. Unfortunately, my sandwich still arrived with pork-laden beans. This was disappointing, as I had hoped for better attention to customer needs.
On a positive note, my girlfriend, who does eat animal products, joined me and thoroughly enjoyed her dish of plain chilaquiles with egg. She described them as ‘great.’
I feel this restaurant could improve by paying closer attention to dietary requests and offering more clear options for those who prefer or require...
