Front desk help/girl called police to report verbal abuse after I asked for a second key card, I was informed that if a plastic key card was not returned, my CC would be charged 100 pesos. Es la POLITICA del hotel or hotel policy. I’m fluent in Spanish so I don’t think it was a misunderstanding as she commented. I have travelled to 4 continents and never have I been charged for a lost plastic key card that costs cents. Police actually found us blocks away and escorted us back. Fortunately at arrival I was never asked to present CC or even I.D. And when she gave second plastic again with no I.D. even though she had never seen me before. Maybe the young lady/help was having a bad day or sleepy as she had her head flat on front desk every time I entered the lobby. She also informed me that everything was on camera. I suggest management review footage and train in her in HOSPITALITY not only technical issues. Bellman was excellent as well as a the beautiful young lady that checked in 2 hours before 3pm...
Read moreAn absolute gem located in the centro of Guanajuato city. We enjoyed every second of our stay here and the customer service was excellent. The hotel was very central and has quick access to dining and the funicular cable car as well. Please note the hotel does not have heat or AC which could bother some during peak season, we had no issues. Our balcony was beautiful and overlooked the busy parque. Take advantage of callejoneada tour located right outside the hotel doors at night. We didn’t not try the hotels restaurant (too many other options nearby with nicer Terrazas) but good to know it’s close for easy dining.
Call the hotel in advance and they can give you the address to the hotel parking area if you have a car during your stay. You will drop off your bags there and be escorted to another parking garage nearby where you can leave your car long term. The walk back to the hotel is easy and short. Saves having to drag your luggage up/down tons of stairs!
10/10. Will...
Read morePros: Is right next to Teatro Juarez and the park is where all the action is at night. That's all. Cons: MOST IMPORTANT: I killed four(4) COCKROACHES in 2 days, two in the sink, one in the desk and one by the closet. It's a bit old, no air conditioner, the room service didn't mop our bathroom in 3 days. If you get the rooms on the south side it's really noisy. Never staying in that hotel again. To bad, its a good location, but it needs a lot of work.
