2/10 stars. I do not recommend and I certainly will not return. I would give 1/10 stars had the service been worse.
Context: I visited on a Saturday at 5:30pm after leaving my previous restaurant selection debacle.
Disclaimer: I am not writing this in anger. I'm writing with disappointment. I should just be used to terrible restaurants in Guanajuato. That being said, there's a reason most restaurants in Guanajuato have such similar scores.
I do not like giving places one star. I realize these reviews are used by many people and a business may suffer because of a low score, but I must be honest. I would want someone to provide me with context for a bad review.
Overall: What a disappointing experience. Do not follow the tourist hype for this place. How bad is it? It's been a very long time since I've been served a cold dish. It's that bad.
Specifics: Credit cards are not accepted, but that didn't bother me. Tourist prices. Be sure to check the menu outside of the door to confirm you are comfortable with the prices. Cold food is so gross and especially when it is chilaquiles + an egg on top. It was cold. My local friend and I sent both of our dishes back. BOTH. We sent the plate back to be "warmed up". In the US I would have sent the plate back and demanded I not be charged. I would have gotten up and left. Salsa so bland you may as well eat tomato sauce. Chips so oily you could wax your car interior with them.
Terrible. Just terrible. I will not complain about the service, but I will not commend...

In the 4 months I've lived in Mexico I've had only 3 bad meals.
The first was on a lake where the food was bland and ordinary.
The second was in Guanajauto in what looked to be promising but sadly the food was bland.
Last week the lines were out the door with an hour wait to get in so we waited till today to try Truco 7 and we actually got one of only two good tables (tables at the bathroom entrance are not good tables)
We do what we always do and engaged our server in conversation but we were disappointed by the poor service - she (and another server) appeared frantic even though the place wasn't full.
After a way-too-long-wait our food arrived ... it was rudely plopped in front of us it - it was lukewarm - and bland.
Until today we've both said we've only had great soups in Mexico.
Truco 7 served both of us bad soups - a chicken consume that was flat and a garlic and egg soup that lacked flavor.
The food seemed like it was mass produced frozen food that was slathered with sauce and cheese and then put under a salamander to give it the impression it was homemade.
The enchiladas were as tough as beef jerky and you could break a tooth on the flautas. (microwaving?)
Minutes after we left Truco 7 we walked by the hole-in-the-wall restaurant called Tortas Mi Lugar - and we will eat there again because the meal we'd had at Tortas Mi Lugar last week was superior in every...
Read moreA very nice beautiful old place but thats about it. The entrance is small but the restaurant is very big inside with paintings and old artifacts. We were told the wait was 35 to 40 mins but it was actually 20 mins. Once inside, the service was non existant. No welcome greeting and was never ask if I needed something after ordering. We got enchiladas verdes (green enchiladas), enmoladas (enchiladas with mole) and onion soup. All plates had lots of cheese but no flavour at all, taking a bite you would expect some kind of cheese taste in your mouth, but I was unable to find it. Onion soup was great but it had a slice of white bread with cheese in it instead of crutons. Green enchiladas were stale and probably the worst I have ever ate in my life. The mole in enmoladas was really tasty with the spicy-sweet flavour it should have but cheese ruined them. Portions are above average and the price OK considering the location. This is a cash only place, taking into account the place is big, its unbelievable they are not able to...
