Horrible experience. Arrived the day before in Isla and this was our first full day. It was my wife's 50th birthday and we couldn't have picked a spot with worse service. The location is great. The view is great. The beds are great. The service is HORRIBLE. we're told the fee for the bed and the minimum on top is $500 pesos each. Not thrilled we told them we would likely spend that anyhow but didn't like the high minimum. Suddenly they say no problem you can have no minimum. But with high prices that was not the issue we spent over the limit. However the service was really bad from both the young surfer looking guy and the young girl. They constantly cared for the young guests while we waited and waited and waited. Ordered 2 drinks. Came not too bad but after that? Ordered a bucket of beers and guacamole and fries. Half hour later still nothing. Hot in Sun we stop the guy he looks at us when we ask where's our beers, food as if we never ordered. We saw cute women walk in get beers right beside us while he hasn't in 30 minutes got us beers. He finally got those then another 15 minutes for chips and guac. Where's our fries? Another 20 minutes. Over 1 hour for fries? And he forgot about us. Does it get better? No we tell another girl about this and order 2 water. She forgets about us. While she is bringing drinks etc around the place she sees me holding out my hands on exasperation she realizes what she's done and apologized and rushed them out and says no charge. Guess what. We don't care. If it was one forgetful thing any place can do that. But the guy forgot about our drinks and food (twice!) and the other forgot our water for a really long time. I was feeling the Sun and was overheated and yet even 2 bottles of water takes forever. The food was just ok for guac the chips were hard, the guac decent. The fries were brought when it was over an hour and we were headed into ocean thinking they'd never come so we ate them cold water returning. They tried to bring out dessert for my wife when we decided not to keep these mistakes to ourselves and it didn't matter anymore. To add insult they did the scummy tactic of writing in the tip they felt they were owed in Spanish on the bill. Most people wouldn't realize the total wasn't what's owed, it's what it really is plus their entitlement. We would've tipped normally very well. At least 20 percent. But when I saw that after the lousy service I still tipped (couldn't bring myself not to) but less than they wrote. I went up to the bar to pay not wanting to wait longer and the girl rushed to my waiting wife to say we hadn't paid my wife said he's at the bar. She then rushed over to listen in to hear me Express our complaints to another server and I wouldn't ever go there again. The girl at bar felt bad, offered free tequila I said we just want to leave and on our first day with a week to go wouldn't ever come back they got our money today. But it's the one and only cash grab they will get. If your young and cute you'll maybe get better service like the anorexic did next to us but this pair, even on a birthday didn't. Ps the dj was awesome late in afternoon with one issue. Sound so loud we yelled to try and hear eachother. We like loud music this was insanely loud. Great song choices though. Crank down to 11 and...
Read moreWow. We found this beach club by recommendation of lovely people from an Isla Mujeres Facebook group. It’s kind of in the cut near the Mia resort past Playa Norte. So worth the trek. We had a car so we parked at the venue around 10:10 am. It was a little tricky to find the small entrance that led to a windy pathway and then to the back of the beach bar. But once you arrive it’s glorious. We were the third family to arrive. They set us up quickly and explained the policies. $500 for a bed and $500 ppl minimum. Not bad for a beautiful sun bed with two umbrellas and delicious food. Typically we are used to mediocre food (insert Tulum Beach Clubs as not many do not have good food). However, this spot is legit all the way around. To note, arrive early as the snorkel and party boats tend to arrive around 11 am. You can get beautiful clear shots with just the beach prior to 11. Interestingly enough, it’s not super crowded despite the way the boats look. Groups come in and leave out. The food - one word: Really good. The Wild Forest Salad, Quesadillas, Coconut Shrimp and Nachos - yum. And the Green Demon. Don’t step foot here without trying by this delicious Green Demon. The chicken al pastor is dry. Like you may die dry. Like have plenty of water to even chew and suck down. More pineapple might have helped but Ii doubt it: It was horrible, dry and tasteless. The manager said he couldn’t remove it so it was a wasted cost. The nachos are a lot. It can easily feed 3-4 people. Order with caution but then again if you get a bed you have to meet a minimum. They aren’t amazing as it’s just chips, cheese and beef (we chose beef). The staff were top notch though. Good folk. Decent food. Great vibes. Enjoy! We would return.

I booked a dinner for 100 wedding guests in January 2019. The event was scheduled for the end of June 2019.
Upon booking the restaurant insisted upon 100% payment, was quirky and a little difficult to work with re drink selections and menu etc. We got through it.
I received no future communication from the restaurant until 6 days from the scheduled event. I was informed that to have tables available for dinner I would have to pay an additional 'site fee' of $1000. The fee was not mentioned previously, was not part of the contract and the restaurant was unreasonable and bullish about finding a resolution.
Ultimately I cancelled the event and scrambled with days until the event to find an alternative. The green demon insisted on keeping $500 stating that having dinner on beach lounge chairs was a perfectly acceptable dinner party for 100 guests and that it was our fault we were cancelling.
At best the Green Demon is unprofessional. The statement from management was that it would have been necessary to close the restaurant for an entire day to set up for the event. Announcing the fee increase with less than a week until the event date, it not being represented on the contract and the unwillingness of management to work together towards a solution has led me to the conclusion that the progression of events was deliberate and that the manager is unscrupulous and intentionally deceitful.
I strongly encourage you to stay away from Green Demon for large events. A more professional mid-range alternative is the Malibu Beach club. A posh alternative is Guru. Both are doors down from...
