So disappointed by this beach club but because of the horrible service. When we first approached the umbrellas and chairs we saw a lady and she pointed us to a man in a blue shirt and white shorts too ask about the pricing. He barely wanted to talk to us and acted like we bothered him. He told us $450 pesos for the 2 chairs and umbrella, then we each had to buy a drink and food. So then said we had to pay his partner at the bar. He basically pointed us to the area, we walked there but stood there 5-7 mins and not one bartender or employee asked us if we needed help. Finally we walked to where it looked like a cashier, she barely spoke English and asked us what#? We were told we could pick whichever, she was confused as much as us. After about 5-7 awkward mins she took our money and gave us 3 coupons. We headed back to chair area and sat on our chairs. Same dude was now helping others who came to ask and taking money and setting them up in chairs, seriously? But would not come over to us to ask us if we needed help or took a drink order nothing, he just would watch women like a pig and meanwhile another waiter was over in front busting his ass working hard. We finally got that other waiter over and when he told us we had to pay for chairs, we said we did and showed the tickets, he shook his head, said you have to pay him/waiters, not the bar. So then this poor guy helped get us set up and helped us with our orders. The whole time there that other waiter just sat there and stood watching the women and only helped 1-2 sets of people but you could see why.... He was a jerk. I would not waste my time or money here. Others would come after and look around wondering about the chairs and that guy would see them and ignore them. They'd either ask us or walk away. Finally we told this one couple who we knew her would ignore to just sit because if they wanted the money they can come to them.. they ended up sitting for over hour before that guy even said anything. This restaurant needs to get rid of that one waiter as they are losing money on him. The other tall thin guy waiter was very nice and helpful but he can't service the whole beach. Beach was pretty but definitely go to...
Read moreWe only got a drink at the bar because of the swings. We didn't use the facilities, eat, or rent chairs. The service wasn't too slow, just not friendly. When we ordered, the bartender just pointed to a sign saying the bar was cash only and didn't say a word. I don't know if he assumed we wouldn't have pesos because we're tourists or what, but it was just kind of strange. I assured him I was paying in cash and he made the drinks but still didn't speak a word. Maybe he just didn't know if we spoke Spanish, but it was bizarre.
As soon as we gave him a large tip (Because you have to be pretty bad for us not to tip well since we worked as servers/bartenders), then he was a little less prickly, but still not friendly. He did at least speak to ask us if we wanted another round.
I'm sure this job sucks with all the annoying tourists, but it doesn't help anything to be so jaded.
The entire time we were at the bar, there were two young servers screwing around and being obnoxious. I thought they were drunk beachgoers at first because they were being so loud and annoying. Nope. It turned out they were employees who were actually on the clock.
We probably would have eaten there if the servers would have been at all nice, but hard pass on folks who can't even be polite. Seems like a hot mess of a...
Read moreYes, it's on the best beach on Isla Mujeres. Excellent location...but sadly the service was insanely bad. No one came over to charge us for our cabaña. I had to go wait in line at the bar to pay. I asked at rhe beginning of the day if I could open a tab. I was told, "No." I had to pay for each drink and snack we ordered throughout the day...which meant a long walk and waiting in line to talk to the rude staff. Sigh. At one point, I actually caught a waiter and asked him for a burrito. He disappeared and never came back. Again, the hike to the bar and dealing with the flipping PETTY staff. On one of my orders, I was told they were adding a charge to my card because it was below the minimum amount. SHE ADVISED ME TO HAVE OPENED A TAB!!!! Ugh...... The food was "mehhhh" quality at best. They served my daughter a black, soggy, expired banana with her pancake and brought it over with a spoon instead of a fork. If you are coming to Isla Mujeres to relax, this is NOT the place to do it. I'm local. I live in Cancun. I've been to other beach clubs around here and had better service and food at all of them. Try Las Hamacas or Palapa Leidy instead...they are both within a few hundred...
