Manix II — Restaurant in Jalisco

Solo on a Saturday evening at 6pm-I’ve been trying go to different restaurants so tonight was Manix 2. Only 1 other car parked there-I walked in to a very dark huge dining room filled with 60’s decor and many huge tables-I peeked on their patio and opted to sit inside -after browsing the menu-I ordered the Chicken Florentine with vegetables and asked for twice the ‘corn soufflé ‘ instead of potatoes. I had read about the corn soufflé and was so excited! -server brought a little plate with 2 little slices of French bead(slightly warmed with a pat of butter) -then my plate came-a nice little chicken breast with some spinach and melted cheese on top and the plate completely drenched in a bad sauce-mostly butter-the corn soufflé -was 2 little 1 inch squares about a quarter an inch thick-tasted like undercooked jiffy cornbread- NOT what I had expected- wry disappointed-I could have made this at home-and better! Best dinner we've had in Ajijic in many years. One of very few, if any restaurants that has real veal. Hector and his family we're wonderful hosts and the food was the best. The four of us all ordered something different and we were all impressed. Chamorro de veal, veal with mushroom gravy and fettuccine, veal with with potatoes and BBQ ribs. I like veal piccata but it was not on the menu however Hector said he would prepare it for me on our next visit, which will be soon. The restaurant itself is very large and well decorated. We only eat at restaurants that allow our small dog to accompany us. Fortunately Manix II welcomed her. Excellent...

We had our dinner last night June 7 2024, at Manix 11 restaurant. The foods were delicious! They have specials on Tuesday and Thursday 2 for 1 price $400 MX pesos with dessert included. Their chicken rolled up with ham and cheese with vodka sauce was excellent. My husband and his friend ordered BbQ pork ribs was also good. I had shrimp Fettuccini alfredo wih red sauce and the portion was very good. And then there is this nice lady who sing they hired to entertain their customers. The chef came to us and greeted us.
