We wanted to celebrate completing Canje and getting our Mexican Residency cards with a healthy, fresh meal. We found the perfect place at Vegan Town! The outdoor seating had a perfect casual patio vibe. Our server spoke perfect English, and our menus were also in English. I had the special water of the day with passion fruit, and it was delicious (and a Victoria beer). Red wine was my husband's choice. We both had a salad, mine being the Silvestre (arugula, spinach, both dried and fresh fruit, nuts) and a Beet (lettuce, beets avocado). If you get a salad with your entre, order a small, which was still large in size! I had the Pesto Pizza (basil, mushrooms, arugula, 2 vegan cheeses) and it was perfect! The crust was just crispy enough, and the flavors all blended well together. Michael had the Bolognese Pasta (tomato, roasted veggies, chickpeas) and loved the fresh ingredients in the dish! If they have the chocolate cake when you're here, it's a must! The cake was mildly dense, soft chocolate flavor, and with a fresh fruit topping. Golden milk poured over it as a perfect finishing flavor to the dessert! Chocolate cake is not usually my dessert choice, but this has changed my mind. This was possibly the best dessert I've had in Ajijic!

UPDATE... New location is very nice garden setting. Food remains excellent ! We are plant based (and to make it more difficult I’m GF celiac) new locals to the Lakeside. What a great find!! Tulu prepared a delicious Capresse pizza with chickpea flour, an agua fresca and a wonderful chocolate dessert which we don’t usually eat. Really! In Ajijic! Wow! This is a very cozy location moving to a bigger space in September. Come visit now if you can but sign up for their Facebook to keep tabs on their new restaurant. Love it!

Vegan Town in Ajijic is a total gem! The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — even non-vegans will love it. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Every dish is homemade and full of love. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious, healthy food in a beautiful garden. 🌿💚

The food is delicious and tasteful. Unfortunately, the service and the owner is very unfriendly. My husband had a serious accident on his knee and was stitched with 60 stitches. The owner of the restaurant has a small dog that can run around freely, which did not bother us either. But this little dog came under our table and climbed my husband by the leg. I just had the menu in my hand and took it to push the dog away with it. My husband was startled and bumped his knee against the edge of the table. He hurt himself. I apologized to the waiter for schied the dog away and made it clear to him that due to the injury we would like to eat without the presence of the dog. The owner came to me and insulted me as an animal torturer and still had no understanding for our situation if we wanted to explain the situation to her calmly and factually. We would like to expressly note that we love all animals in respect.

Here is a very personal word to the restaurant owner. You can say of luck that we do not report them, because due to the bump on the table card that was produced by her dog, my husband's wound has started to bleed again.

Too bad we wouldn't come back. Anyway we wish you luck, your food is delicious and maybe you think about next time to apologize instead to insulting...

More and more of these kinds of places are popping up lakeside. A good thing, I guess, with all the new people arriving all the time. Hipsters will love it! Love this place, probably the closest I'm going to get to a keto restaurant. Food is, of course, healthy but also very tasty. I plan to repeat trips to try everything on their menu. Highly recommend! I know you are a vegan/vegetarian place, not low carb or keto, but can I suggest a mashed potato alternative made with cauliflower? https://youtu.be/wmfrXFIEKc0 The first visit had the Mexican Baggett and dessert (brownie & ice cream), plus a couple of bits of wife's pizza. This time, the cauliflower wings were delicious, too! A good number of visits since; we always ask what the days special is because there is a good chance we will want to try it. Our go-to meal is we each get a Town Pizza and share a salad. We live in Chapala, and these days, there is a lot of backed up slow traffic in Ajijic and surrounding areas, but we still manage to eat here periodically. Have not benn in...
