Oasis Bay Malecón — Restaurant in Jalisco

DO NOT GO HERE! The manager—I did not get his name unfortunately, but he was of average height and bald—told me that this place is not like the United States; that if I did not like their service, I shouldn’t come back. That we do not aim to please the customer. This gives you a glimpse of what a terrible restaurant this is.

I ordered a cocktail, half shrimp and half octopus. I was surprised that when I got it, it only had 3 (yes, 3!) shrimps on the rim of the glass. I have been eating cocktails my whole life, and I have never been to a place anywhere else that serves you just 3 shrimps. So, I thought this had to be a mistake, and I asked about it. I was surprised when they told me it wasn’t a mistake. The shrimp cocktail comes with 6 shrimps, they said, and since I asked for half, I was only getting three.

I also ordered a soda. When I got it, it was hot, and they only gave me a glass of ice with it. Because of the heat, the ice melted right away, and the soda became watered-down. I asked if they could bring me a cold soda, and, again surprisingly, they said they only had hot soda. Yes, I know, unbelievable that in this heat this restaurant cannot serve cold soda.

You can be sure that I complained to the waiter, and I asked to speak to the manager. I don’t need to repeat what he told me... It was a horrible experience. Not only did they have ridiculous portions and couldn’t offer a cold drink, but they were incredibly rude. They definitely do not care about the customer.

I should add that we saw another family that stood up and left without even touching their food. We were not the only ones that day.

Go ahead and read their reviews on Yelp; they are more accurate of what a tourist trap this is. Save yourself a sour time and stay away...

Came here at night for a bite of some night fare. We had not eaten dinner as we were tired from sunbathing .

The Mexican Nachos and the "Large" Gaucamole are an amazing appetizer for those that want something familiar.

If you are into making your own wraps then ask what the best thing on the menu is and the waiter should tell you. It's a cooked Steak or chicken strip on a tacos out style presentation. Mexican Molcjaltes, beef and chicken are both excellent. I'm sure the seafood is good but we didn't try it. The bowls are hot 🔥, fr9m the oven, do not touch them. The air in the early evening and the music and food. GREAT JOB by this restaurant 👏 👌 👍 🙌.

Only problem started when a Mexican restaurant next door started up their music and then it clashed. Not their fault, just hit this place between 6 and 10 in the evening and...

Went to the Malecon today, the menu and prices looked good. The waiter was gracious enough to adjust a seating for six of us. We ordered lime margaritas, specifically told him shaken not crushed, he brought back the margaritas full of ice. Then when we looked around realized that we got our drinks in small glasses. When we asked the waiter, he went and checked with the owner who did know what to say, so he brought 2 large margaritas and said as compensation. When it was time to pay, he charged us for the 2 large ones as well. We ordered one beer and one 7 up, got billed for 2. Had an issue when paying. They threatened to call the cops if we didn't pay. I told him, we are paying but have an issue with the bill. He deducted the beer and 7 UP. But it left a bad taste in the mouth. Would not recommend this place. If you insist on going, please...
