The dinner was fine. My issue was with the chef who I assume is also the owner because he acted as such. He essentially wound up being my waiter as the waitress spoke no English, which I would’ve been fine with as I’m slowly learning Spanish. From the start, I found the chef to be brash and edgy. Anyways, I asked the chef if the salads were shared salads or single serve, and he offered that he’d be happy to serve me a half salad. I got the caprice. When the bill came, I was billed for a full salad, even though I heard him call out to the kitchen “Medio” for half. I called him over and I asked him about the bill , and he impatiently reasoned that with the caprice salad it wouldn’t look right/ too small and so they served the whole salad and billed me for the whole. I said to him that he suggested half salad and that’s what we agreed upon and his reply was “well look, you ate the whole thing! “ The thing is, he said that with such arrogance and lack of consideration. Then he waved his hand in a brushing me off fashion and kind of stormed off into the kitchen; he ending the conversation without even checking in with me that I was OK with that. As far he was concerned, it was a unilateral decision of his. Honestly, that’s what pissed me off more than anything else; his attitude. If instead he had said “you’re correct sir. We did agree on a half salad and half price. It’s just that we in the kitchen felt like it would look too small so we decided to serve the whole. I’m sorry, I should’ve asked if that was OK with you.“. If he had said that it would’ve absolutely felt entirely different for me personally . And then I wouldn’t be writing this review. Instead, I left the restaurant kind of pissed. That is no way to treat a...

Hands down the best gluten free pizza I have ever had. So good, we went here twice. The owner created his own gluten free crust blend that he bakes in a wood fired oven.

It’s a simple menu of vegetarian and Italian dishes, with gluten free and vegan options.

We ordered the pear and goat cheese salad to split. He delivered it already spilt between two plates, so big we thought it was actually 2 servings.

The pizza came out next, Jean Pierrre. There were tons of fresh toppings with plenty of pomadoro sauce. The crust was airy and crispy, something gluten free pizzas always lack. And the pizza was enough to split between two people. It was cooked well, had lots of toppings and cheese and had brought sauce. These are always my buggiest complaints about gluten free pizza, especially because you typically get charged a lot more. His gluten free up charge is only 30 pesos ($1.50).

And the water was even amazing. House water infused with ginger.

Next day, went back for lunch and got a similar meal. This time we had the Greek salad split and the 5 Terre. Again, perfectly baked and completely satisfied!

There’s also a coffee bar, pastas (gf options), and desserts with gf options too!

The location is on a side street just off the Malecón. The atmosphere is small and relaxed, open air with fans. No A/C but we were comfortable. They take cash or credit card.

If you want pizza in Puerto Vallarta, go here. You will not be disappointed. You can get non gluten free as...

Had high expectations going into this restaurant after so many amazing reviews, but was disappointed with service and food. My husband’s lasagna was so bad, had no flavor at all. I am not the greatest cook, but my lasagna is 150 times better than this. I think actually airplane lasagna is better than this. My husband called it “Awful dinner”. My Puttnasca was ok, but definitely have had better. The highlight was pizza and tiramisu. One of the best vegan pizzas.

Service wasn’t great. They seemed annoyed with us, maybe bc we had two kids (4 and 6) or maybe bc we were Americans? They didn’t speak English well, so it was challenging. The guy messed up our order: didn’t bring our Caesar salad, but brought us two pizzas. When I told him that is not what I ordered, and repeated what i ordered and asked for my salad, I never saw the salad. I don’t even know what they charged us for, they never showed us our bill, just took our card, and asked how much tip we want to add. So I don’t even know if we paid for two pizzas and ceasar salad we never had.

The atmosphere was great though, cute place. Just not sure they like...

A Delightful Dining Experience at Veggitalia in Puerto Vallarta I recently had the pleasure of dining at Veggitalia in Puerto Vallarta, and it was a delightful experience overall. Before heading to the restaurant, I recommend giving them a call to confirm their opening hours and inquire about wait times. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the variety of dishes available. The pizza, lasagna, and pasta we ordered were all outstanding. The chef demonstrated exceptional skill and was willing to accommodate off-menu requests for those seeking a unique culinary experience. One notable gesture that added a personal touch to our visit was the chef pouring my Celsius drink into a wine glass, showcasing their attention to detail and customer satisfaction. I'd highly recommend Veggitalia for a memorable dining experience. Just remember to check ahead for their hours and availability, as this popular spot can have varying wait times. Don't forget to explore the off-the-beaten-path options if you're feeling adventurous—you won't be disappointed!

I LOVE Italian food but being vegan and Gluten-free makes it tough to find a place with both - its usually one or the other and the latter is usually not very good. But tonight I hit pay dirt: Veggitalia. I thought they'd have a few options that fit the bill but EVERYTHING on the menu had a vegan and Gluten-free option! This included a cheese plate, antipasto platter, Eggplant Parmigiano, pizzas... and even desserts (can you say Tiramisu?). I had fettuccine with zucchini and a melange of mushrooms with a gorgonzola cream sauce...shut the front door! To say that the food is outstanding is an understatement! The plating was gorgeous, the place is beautiful, and everywhere you look there are spiritual quotes, the chakras, and in the bathroom a photo of Yogananda Paramahansa. Just my vibe. And the icing on the cake was that it was Mexican/Italian through and through - no vestiges of an American place. If you're ever in PV, Veggitalia is an absolute must!
