This is an updated review since my last positive (4 star) review three or four years earlier. We’ve been coming to this place for years and there’s always been some transition and this time, there’s updated front windows and remodeling. But unfortunately the service has gone drastically downhill and the food is below par for us! We first got water glasses that had a full lipstick on it and when we informed the manager? He took it without a word then plopped down a new glass without a word or smile. We had to ask for everything even though there were only three tables filled in this large restaurant (coffee refill, ketchup, syrup, etc.). No one came and asked if we needed anything. But sadly the food was below par as the pancakes looked good but was tough and not fluffy and the bacon was burnt. The eggs were done well but that was it. Sad but we have been coming here for over a decade every year but this is the last time. Finally? The music by our table was so loud. I could barely hear our conversation. There are sooo many places with good breakfast but NOT Rico’s especially at their prices. We do not...
Read moreWe've been coming here for years. The food has always been good and prices are reasonable, for food anyway. I had the burger & fries, a big burger with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato & onion along with a portion of fries for 155mp (about $11 cdn). Mrs had a bowl of tortilla soup, a tomato soup with shredded fried tortillas & cheese for 80mp (about $5.60 cdn) and she had an order of fries for 70mp (about $4.90 cdn). Two lemonades were 130mp (about $9.10cdn) which is a bit steep for a soft drink in Mexico IMO. The place has undergone a major remodeling recently. Each year a bit of change takes place but this past year there's been a lot of change. Honestly, I liked it best 10 years ago when it was all open and fun looking. Now it's more closed up and fancy looking. Anyway, what hasn't changed is that it's still good food at...
Read moreNot the best place to have tacos. We ordered an arrachera quesadilla, some carne asada, pastor and chorizo tacos.
The quesadilla was good. It had a pretty decent size and with lots of cheese. The arrachera was also tender.
The asada tacos are not great. The meat is not soft. The tacos al pastor are bearly okay... they were not really well cooked, and the tortillas are kind of chewy.
The place is very warm, we sat next to the kitchen and we changed tables because of the heat. It was a bit better but still warm and not really recommendable for hot summer weather nights.
The food is also more expensive than other tacos a few blocks away. In general, I would say that it is not the best price-taste you can find...
