I experienced one of the worst Thai meals ever last night.( ordered to-go) For an appetizer, I ordered Coconut Shrimp @195 pesos ... I was shocked to receive what appeared to be dried out shrimp jerky on a stick ( dried and chewy) I threw them out ... at that price I expected plump shrimp with a coconut crust...Not! Then craving my favorite...Tom Ka Gai...this “ trademark Thai soup” came with no Lemmon grass, no mushrooms, no tomatoes! They say they have a Thai chef...surely, he must have been off on this Thursday night because my soup didn’t even resemble the signature classic dish.

I wrote an email to the manager explaining my upset and simply asked for a refund , promising never to return. I got no answer from her.

I’m told they also offer hamburgers... that might be a safer order.

Go to Simply Thai and you will be thrilled with their authentic Thai cuisine.

Tepetate Pian Thai, on Hidalgo Street, is one of my very favorite restaurants in Ajijic. Even though I tell myself each time I go, that I will order something new, I continue to order their Drunken Noodle with shrimp, which is awesome. I must also say that they have the best Piña Coladas in all of Ajijic -- and I've tried an awful lot of them!

I especially enjoy sitting on the 2nd floor lanai, where waiter Rufino takes excellent care of his guests. I can't say enough about how great this restaurant is ...... and, oh yes, they have immaculately clean and well...

My husband came in for dinner a little before 6. At nearly 6:30 he hadn't received his food, though another diner came in ten minutes after, not only got his dinner but also made a take out order which he received. My husband asked the wait person where his food was. The woman went to the kitchen but never brought his food. He asked again, and finally said he was leaving. No one apologized or made any attempt to let him know there was maybe a problem with the order. Nothing. He did have a beer which they accepted payment for and...
