Tsunami Sushi Vallarta — Restaurant in Jalisco

We patronized tsunami sushi at 4pm on a Sunday. The food was very good. The service and attention was precise and the staff were always available but not hovering around the table or obnoxious. The food was delicious and fresh. We had two appetizers... Yami y Caschi ... Miso soup... Three rolls: cosmopolitan, California, and aguachili roll... Also one order of tuna nigiri and ice cream for dessert.

The tuna nigiri was perfect... Nice fatty slices of fresh tuna.

The cosmopolitan roll with is fried seaweed wrap and complex sauces was very rich and flavorful. The cosmopolitan roll tied the aguachili roll (wrapped with cucumber) as our favorite rolls of the day.

The California roll was bland and the rice fell apart on many of the rolls. Our disinterest with the delicate flavor of the California roll I think is in part due to our expanding palette when it comes to sushi. I would skip the Cali roll unless you're introducing someone to sushi for the first time...

The soup was great with lots of noodles and tofu. Very well balanced broth. A bowl (16-20oz) is enough for a lunch meal.

The ice cream here is very sweet and actual ice cream... So it is very similarly flavored to that of McDonald's. An order gets you two scoopsvanilla ice cream drizzled in chocolate sauce with a cherry on top.

Kate wanted Sushi, n the 4+ years we have been here we have never stopped. It is a bit out of the way, AC inside Greeting was okay. My opinion pricing was a bit high for the portion size. I would also recommend you include a small Salad or soup with the Entree, bad on your part. I feel I am being very generous with 4 stars in hopes You improve. We both had a Miso Soup which was very good. I ordered the Wok Lobster, what I received had good flavor the chili's used tended to build, the veggies appeared to be the Most expensive part. Udon Noodles are cheap. So a bit puzzled by the chef.... The other oddity was my Wok arrived before Kate's Sushi out of what I would have suspected the sequence to happen. They do have...

Very professional and very courteous service. Excellent presentation and portions are all quite generous! We started with natural miso. Also had a variety of sushi and sashimi. Then tempura pawns and a very interesting and tasty salmon hamburguesa made with a rice formed bun - impressively done! Unfortunately our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and were unable to finish everything. We'll know...
