Zoo Bar — Restaurant in Jalisco

DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU'RE A TOURIST!!!! THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!! The only reason why we went there is because we wanted hookah and they told us they had it and took us inside. We were so happy we didn't ask question and came inside. There was no menu so they bought the flavors for us to choose. It took about 30 mins for us to get the actual hookah and it wasn't working!! An additional 10 minutes to make it work. Later on we asked for to change the coals. They said it would be additional but did not give us the price. We said okay. When we ready to leave we asked for the check and they told us the hookah was cash only - we didn't have cash and no one told us it would be cash only but okay. Then the price came... 1500 pesos, or $93!!!!!! (Mind you, the check he brought us said "Bebida Especial" IT WAS NOT THE REAL PRICE, THEY MADE IT UP!!!!). We had never seen a price like this before, not even in NYC. If we knew it was that expensive we would have NEVER even came to the place in the first place (it was empty - we understand why now - robbers). They forced us to pay cash, took us to the ATM. While I was getting the cash I was telling them it's not normal a price like this and they should have told us before. They blamed us!!!! Saying we never asked for the price so they thought we could pay. I told them it's not about the money but about the honesty- they didn't tell us the price would be high and they didn't tell us it'd be cash. i would have loved to give this bar five stars. they have energy, a great ambience, excellent music, and phenomenal customer service … except … when it comes time to pay the tab. they ONLY accept pesos but will take you to an ATM that only dispenses USD. They will ask about their exchange rate and tip despite you questioning the price of well shots and the sheer number of drinks reflected on the tab. They understood my english just fine and I understood their spanish just fine until it was time to pay the check. Earlier in the night i paid less for market value seafood and drinks than i did for their club drinks and bottles of water. Everything is about their club is awesome until you pay. Everything was amazing about their staff until you pay. Instead just buy a bottle and ask for juice if you want a good price. Ask for a few bottles of water as well. The bar/nightclub overall is ok. Not the best though. However our experience was not favorable. First, we bought open bar for every single one of us (15 males, the ladies went in "for free" and it was only 4 of them) we were assigned an area/table(s) and we were told we were going to get tequila. We did not get tequila it was something worse. Then we asked for something else and the waiters were refusing to serve vodka to us because according to them we did not pay for it, when in reality we had paid for open bar. Moreover, they were DEMANDING for a specific amount of money from tips. We understand and we are conscious that it is their job and they make most of their money from tips, but we did not appreciate them DEMANDING for tips and giving us a service where they refused to give us the drinks we wanted.
