Cute cafe with delicious baked goods! A special treat in Merida if you’re looking for something along the lines of non-traditional Mexican cuisine.

I had the eggs Benedict which was done with its own flair. On a thick piece of fresh bread, avocado and 2 poached eggs with a lighter take on hollandaise sauce accompanied by a side salad. Now, I love eggs Benedict but usually I need a nap after. Because the sauce isn’t as heavy, you don’t get that same feeling.

We also had a cinnamon roll to share. This was definitely the star of the show. It’s made with a croissant dough so it’s very flaky and utterly delicious. The cinnamon filling was so tasty too!

My husband said it was the best coffee in Mexico he’s had, though he hasn’t really found a place here that he’s liked so this was a treat for him. I got the Golden Milk which they make warm. They were kind enough to make it chilled for me which they warned would make it taste off. Fair enough it did but I appreciate them being so accommodating.

The decor is very nice. There’s a fantastic courtyard in the back with very few tables so you’ll be lucky if timing is on your side.

There was a big line out front. Be prepared to wait. There was a waitress that came and took your names… but the line got about 15 people deep so I went in and asked if they could take our names / give us an update as to when we would be seated as we could see some empty tables from the outside. Not a big deal for us but just be aware this may be an issue. It’s a very popular so it was perfectly understandable.

Once we sat down, the staff was very attentive and the food came out quickly. It’s definitely a place you sit and have a chat with your dining guests as it’s just a beautiful spot!

Prices are more expensive than other places around but the food is also very different, and the decor, quality, etc.

Worth it and we...

Pan & Koffee is the coolest atmosphere with incredible food and the friendliest staff! I came in for the morning and after to do some remote work and get some food and cold drinks. The fresh squeezed guava juice was lovely on such a hot day. The breakfast sandwich had great flavors and was the perfect fuel I needed for my afternoon. And as someone who just wants to have a cool experience at places I visit, this checked all the boxes! The interior design creates the most beautiful, earthy atmosphere, the music is so fun to listen to while you work, and the space is HUGE, allowing you to experience the space from different perspectives. I highly recommend...

Good place, trending towards great but not quite there.

Highlights: Great location and great atmosphere: thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere. Pastry and bread: this is where this place shines, this is a perfect place to have a cup of coffee and croissant early morning (note that i didn’t mention breakfast).

Lowlights: Service: slow, to sum it up: in a table of 5 people, 2 persons finished their meal before the rest of the table even received their dishes. Dishes: not so flavorful.

Other notes: Arrive early as the place gets really busy.

Tldr; a nice place to have a cup of coffee and a piece of pastry after finishing a run. Wouldn’t fully recommend it...
