Went with friends for Independence Day dinner. Place was a lot quieter that I would have guessed at 8 pm. 3 friends ordered the special chiles en nogada, I ordered the queso relleno. We ordered a couple of appetizers and some drinks. My friends started getting their food quickly, then the appetizers arrived. I still did not have any food. My friends started eating their food while I had some appetizers. When they were about finished with most of their food, and had cleared away many of the dishes, my food arrived and and then a minute later, their dessert arrived. My dessert never came at all but because it was not on the bill, I opted not to wait another what would have likely been another 45 minutes or so for the dessert to arrive. The drinks were good, my queso relleno was good, one of my friends that loves the special chiles did not care for hers at all, the others said they were "ok" but too cold, even though they are not supposed to be hot, they should not be cold either. Super disappointed as I had recommended it after having lunch there with another friend some months prior and it was good. Generally I would not base an entire review on a holiday but given that they seemed to have plenty of staff and many empty tables that we could see while we were there, the service and the way the food was delivered to the table was terrible. Of course there was no acknowledgment of the poor order of how the food was delivered, even though it was obviously bad. It seems that the service and attention has gone way down since my first visit. The restaurant itself is very nice, for that they would get very high marks but in reality, as much as I love a nice atmosphere, a simple place with good food and organized service would be the better option. The entertainment was very good which added to...
Read moreNo welcoming atmosphere. Very concerned whether I had a reservation (The restaurant was 90% empty and I was alone)Uninterested young waiter. No napkins on my table. Waiter didn‘t bring any and was too busy having chat with his colleague at the entrance. Only after I stood up and took a decoration napkin from another table, they brought some. Food way overpriced compared to other reputable Maya restaurants in town I have been. My cochinita pibil was mediocre. At the end, I agreed to pay a 10% Tipp for the non-existing service I received to realize that the waiter added another 2% extra himself while hiding the device from my eyes!!! Seriously - there are many better placed with excellent food and friendly service you can choose in Mérida. Don‘t waste your time and money here. If you do - make sure you‘re Not getting...
Read moreThis is so far the best restaurant I have been to in Mexico (through I have only visited 2 so far). The ambiance was spectacular, the decorations were fancy and homey at the same time. I had the cochinita pibil tacos. They were AMAZING and the sauce that came with it is not to be ignored. Along with that, the guacamole that I had pleased both tasted just as good as it looked (it looked really good). The service was a bit slow at the beginning when getting the drinks and orders taken but picked up soon after. Along with that they did a wonderful job taking away our finished plates as soon as we were done with them keeping our plates nice and clean. All in all I definitely recommend...
