La Cubanita — Restaurant in Mérida

The Cuban food is not the most authentic given they don’t have all the condiments require like we do in the United States. However, it is decent and affordable. For authentic Cuban food, you would have to go to Miami, Union City, New Jersey, or Los Angeles.

Este restaurante es el mejor para la comida cubana. Comida cubana casera muy buena. Me recordó cuando vivía en Miami, Florida. Me encanta la familia, el hijo un artista increíble, la mamá una cocinera súper dulce y increíble, el padre un superanfitrión en la parte delantera del restaurante. No puedo decir lo suficiente como para hablar de amabilidad de este increíble restaurante y familia. Este es mi lugar favorito para cenar en Mérida.

This Restaurant is the best for Cuban food. Very good homemade Cuban food. It reminded me of my life in Miami, Florida. I love the family, the son an amazing artist, the mom a super sweet and amazing cook, the father a super host at the front of the restaurant. Delicious and plentiful portions. Staff are very friendly and quick service. My favourite place to eat in Mérida. There are loads of overrated restaurants in merida (MUGI, hacienda teya etc) , while those might look fancy, food is not authentic or tasty. This place however tastes like I’m sitting in an abuelitas house in Cuba, everything is amazing, and feels like home. I could spend hours looking at the art, and it’s all done by the son! Self taught! So talented and i reccomend you look carefully to understand the amazing statements these art pieces make. Highly reccomend the ropa vieja, you will not be disappointed with the fresh and tasty flavours of an amazing country.
