Excellent food. If you like lamb chops, this is not only probably one of the only places in Merida that serves them, but where they are ALWAYS consistently fresh and cooked to perfection. With mashed potatoes and a bottle of cold Stella, you can’t go wrong.
I have been a long time customer of this restaurant and while away & traveling I hadn’t ate there in almost 3 years. I was recently in Merida again and had forgotten about the restaurant almost entirely and then out of pure chance, passed by there and decided I had to eat. I didn’t know what to expect because a lot of my old favorite go-to spots in centro have either decreased their quality, decreased their service, or both. I was thoroughly pleased to see (and taste) that Pita is holding up strong and hasn’t skipped a beat.
Absolutely delicious flavor, cooked to perfection, and with top-tier service that is difficult to find right now. 5-stars without a doubt.
I was also lucky enough to go in the evening on a day that was a bit cooler than previous days, and the patio out back was clean, private, and airy. I had a beautiful dinner in a place that I really missed eating at.
Highly recommended. It...
Read moreWe just bad a most amazing dinner at Pita. We wanted to try a bit of everything, so instead of ordering meals, my wife and I ordered several, appetizers and all were phenomenal.
We ordered the hummus, the falafel, the tabouli, and the babaganoush. The appetizers came with a bunch of fresh baked pita. We had wanted to order the tzatziki as well, but our server told us that we had already ordered too much food, he was right, we couldn't even finish what we had.
While I generally like my tabouli, with more parsley and less bulgar wheat, the tabouli was excellent. The falafel was perfect, crispy,on the outside and soft on the inside. The hummus was very good. I like my wife's better, but this was way above average. Finally, the babaganoush was probably the best I have ever eaten.
Our server was awesome. He checked on us several times and was both efficient and friendly. Service was terrific.
This is a fantastic dining experience and we will be back the next time we...

There was a Customer wandering the restaurant without a mask, on the phone and coughing over our table! I ask him to move away… he ignored us and kept on.
Once a stranger coughs on me it’s hard to keep eating.
All in full view of Staff and Management who are oblivious. There was a total of 2 tables with Guests. Business as usual I guess. For me, No pita can be that good to risk getting Covid! We paid and left as quick as we could, while “Mr Cougher” stayed and enjoyed his afternoon.
Told Management, who kept saying “it was okay” Sorry it really is not ok. I understand it must be very hard for the restaurant. However rules are in place to protect staff and the public for a reason.
I took responsibility for my own well being and left. It would have been nice if management could have done the same.
Fingers crossed, my Pita experience doesn’t end up with not only me but the staff at Pita...
