Mediocre, slow, and impersonal service with decent Korean dessert options. Upon entering the café, the atmosphere felt a bit odd as there wasn’t anyone around until I walked further into the bakery area. I was met with stares and didn’t feel particularly welcome. Even getting a menu was awkward, and I almost had to search for it myself. I decided to try the mango bingsu (shaved ice with ice cream and mango bits) and asked about the sizes, but the response was neither friendly nor helpful. Despite that, I went ahead and ordered the personal size. It took an unnecessarily long 10 minutes to get my dessert, despite being the first customer, which felt excessive for a shaved ice treat. When the bingsu finally arrived, it looked appealing, but the personal size was much larger than I had expected (likely because I didn’t receive a clear answer when I asked). The first few bites were nice, though a bit too sweet for my taste. The shaved ice was well done, but they went heavy on the condensed milk, making the dessert overly sweet. At $95, the price was fair for the portion, but the “personal” size could easily serve two people—I could barely finish half. While the variety of Korean desserts seemed interesting, the overall experience was dampened by the impersonal service and slow response.

I don’t really think this place quite ranks four stars but I’m rounding up from the 3.6 or 3.7 I’d rather give it. Surprisingly, my Americano was probably the best item I had. My wife and I shared several different breads with a variety of fillings. Neither the breads nor the fillings were really great, though everything was reasonably tasty. With so many other places to choose from we’re not likely to return unless we just happen to be on the block when we’re hit with the need for a coffee break.

Our go-to spot for mango shaved ice after getting Korean food in this neighborhood. We like the quaint outdoor patio area, a chill spot to enjoy a sweet treat (naturally gluten-free as well). The large size shaved ice is good for sharing (between 2-3 people depending on how much you can eat). Particularly love the addition of condensed milk 😋
