Balboa Pizzería looks like the kind of place you’d stumble into late at night, hungry and hopeful, thinking a slice of something honest will set things right. Instead, what you get is the definition of average.
The pizza? Forgettable. Crust without soul, sauce without story, cheese that melts but says nothing. It doesn’t offend you, but it doesn’t move you either. It just… exists. The sort of pie you eat halfway, then realize you’re not hungry enough to finish.
The service mirrors the food—indifferent, transactional. Plates arrive, drinks appear, boxes are ticked. No rhythm, no warmth, no sense that anyone behind the counter gives a damn whether you enjoy yourself.
In a city where pizza has become a battlefield of craft, tradition, and passion, Balboa plays it safe to the point of invisibility. And that’s the worst sin a restaurant can commit. Not being bad—being forgettable.

Read moreThe waiter was horrible. Eating solo and not crowded, other waiters were playing around. The waiter told me the menu was a QR. Then didn't come back from 5mins. Then asked if I wanted a drink. I said I was ready to order. Regualr Coke, Ceasar salad and small Pepperoni & Onion pizza. I get a Coke zero and he changes it, my salad had more parmesan cheese then dressing. I asked for black pepper and salt to cure the watery over cheesed salad. He hands me the pepper grinder and walks away. I get my pizza and it's pepperoni only. Tossed it down and walks away. He never returns to ask if everything is OK. I stop him to say my pizza was wrong and see it before I eat and have to pay for 2 toppings. After I'm done he puts the check down and again walks away fast. 5mins later another waiter comes to ask how I'm paying. I leave no tip and say the service was horrible. Atmosphere was nice but the...
Read moreReally dissapointing pizza super thick and doughy edges that kind of takes away half the pizza then the center of the pizza the dough is super thin and holds a layer of cheese thats 3 times thicker than the dough, so when you try to grab a slice and eat it like a normal pizza you hold that monster doughy edge and the rest of the pizza just falls down and all the cheese and fillings ends up on you plate so you need to use cutlery for this pizza thats mainly a huge crust and cheese. The flavours were okey to good but its a pizza for 245 pesos so they should be.. but the empanadas are great i really like the meat empanada one of the best ones i have had here in...
