Upscale experience. I had a wonderful time here with my friends. We went on a Momday, and we did need a reservation. They have plenty of space and tables with a lot of seating. The host, the servers, and the entire staff were super helpful and knowledgeable with their menu. Many servers speak English, and they are super nice people ! We oder tons of appetizers and were satisfied with all of our food. We order"chapulines," which in English is crickets; the taste was delicious, but I was not courage enough to see them . They have legs and body, and when you are chewing, it is like if you are chewing somenthin crunchy but still feel the legs on your tongue and throat. It was a unique experience. I definitely recommend this to you. As I said, it was unique, and the taste was spicy, citrusy, and crunchy.

Su diseño arquitectónico y oferta gastronómica se conjugan para tener una experiencia muy agradable. Terraza y Mesa del Chef La Terraza es un área que cuenta con un espacio para fumadores, puede recibir a más de 100 invitados y ser utilizado con cualquier propósito de servicio. Staying at the Hyatt Regency Polanco, on the evening of 05/14/2024 we chose the CHAPULIN – Itercontinental restaurant, for a business dinner with clients. Our group had 4 people, we ordered starters, wine and main course. We were well looked after, and the experience as a whole was pleasant. To our sad surprise, the next day, early in the morning, both my coworker and I began to experience symptoms of food poisoning that would only worsen throughout the day, culminating in a hospital admission to the emergency room at Hospital San Martin, where we were diagnosed with severe food poisoning. Both my colleague and I ate the same dish. “Arrancheras with Camarones” (photo attached). Due to the fact that we ordered the same dish, the time at which the symptoms appeared, the fact that the symptoms appeared before we had eaten any other meal, there is no doubt that the poisoning occurred during dinner at CHAPULIN. The poisoning was severe, brought immense discomfort and made it impossible for us to continue with our activities the following day. It is simply unacceptable for a restaurant of this standard to offer contaminated food to customers to the point of causing such discomfort. Certainly a problem with food storage and health surveillance protocols. By email we communicated the fact to both the CHAPULIN manager, Mr. Augusto Ramírez, and Mr. Jean Christophe Prioux, director of Branded Restaurants at the Hotel Presidente InterContinental, but no action was taken. There is no way I can recommend the restaurant after a disastrous experience like this.

Simply put: this place is way too overrated. Giving a little bit more details from best to worst... 1) decoration and architecture: this is the only outstanding thing of the restaurant. Really amazing every single detail. That's why it was among the 21 Prettiest Restaurants in Mexico City according to Food and Pleasure. But... That online report never mentioned that we were to expect amazing food nor good service at all... 2) food: it is good, but it does not blow your mind... It is honestly flat... Without surprises nor anything that could make you remind of Chapulín as a good and unique restaurant. 3) service/attention: the worst without hesitating. They left us at the very cornered table, our original waiter disappeared after 20 minutes, they never offered us a clothe rack, the sommelier (first one attending us) was a disaster (he brought us the wrong wine bottle twice, then he surrendered saying they did not have what we ordered). Afterwards, the other sommelier, Hector, moved faster and found us quickly our alternate choice. However, we had already had our entrée so the damage was done... Definitely not recommended for any occasion.

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were literally the first customers, it look liked the restaurant had just opened as they were still finishing setting up the dining room. After being seated and having been offered some water, we have been ignored for a while by the waiters, until I had to ask for the menu. Food was good overall, even though I had better, comparatively speaking. We kicked it off with a couple of appetizers: grasshoppers tacos with guacamole and cheese (good) and banana fried balls with pressed pork skin (outstanding!). As main course, we had short ribs (average) and chile en nogada (delicious) - special feature on the menu as part of the upcoming celebration for Mexican independence. I had high expectations for this place. However, the below-average service and the high cost (got charged for bread too) was a bit of a let down. Will not go back.

Went to start with this restaurant I guess we can start with the fact that the food is amazing. Very Mexican typical food elevated into a more sophisticated cuisine. I appreciate the service which was on point and they executed marvelous. This is a very typical old restaurant that braces a lot of the past from the same hotel. It stands on this traditional street, food, Mexican traditional cuisine brought in a very sophisticated and elegant way. I recommendation here is to embrace all the Mexican dishes, a company with a Mexican wine of your choice and I assure you you will have a great time .
