Chimex — Restaurant in Mexico City

Finally managed to visit this food establishment, as I was craving some Korean Fried Chicken.

So, I’d visited on 03/01/23, just after 6PM

What I found to be somewhat unclear to customers is the time of queuing up and how you’re waiting on the stairs and how people are sometimes going on and you don’t know if they’re pushing in front or getting take-out.

I had to make a point of how poor communication is and to inform your waiting customers on the wait time.

Please be warned that any tables ordering hot-pots, depending on the waitress who is serving. They have poor handling skills and spillage is possible. So, be vigilant.

One of the disappointments I had was ordering the Torre Chimex - Fries, melted Cheese and corn. That arrived so late, for what is relatively a quick simple dish to do. I’d asked them to take this off, due to it arriving late. The sweet and spicy sauce is okay. Not the best. Portions are very generous on the boneless selection.

Also, do check your final bill before paying. As the items you ordered are not presented correctly on the final bill and you may assume you are getting overcharged. One dish that comes to mind, when i had to help another table with their final bill was chicken with two sauces and rice cakes. Rather it be one item on the bill, they’ll charge you 2x chicken portions and the rice cakes as separate. Which totals to that amount. Something, I know from a technical perspective can be be updated on their EPOS system.

Very unwelcoming, seemed like nobody could be bothered to serve us properly. We ordered original chicken wings with garlic and soy dip. They brought out crispy chicken wings and some kind of chilli powder. I asked for the dip we ordered, nobody was in a rush to get it to us before the chicken went cold, so by the time it arrived we had only two wings left. I didn’t bother saying that we hadn’t even ordered the crispy chicken. So the order was totally messed up. The chicken itself was ok. When it came to payment the waiter tried to add a 20% tip on! Me encantó el pollo ,Pero NO EL SERVICIO los meseros que te atienden cuando entras se creen los dueños más las mujeres meseras que solo son trabajadoras para el patrón coreano, llegas y súper despectivos te mira de arriba a abajo.. se la pasan riendo ,viéndote ,te hacen caras y ni siquiera te pasan el menú ,si te lo pasan casi te lo tiran no son nada amables, eran las 2 de la tarde creo que la hora con más afluencia en un fin de semana ,el restaurante adentro completamente vacío ,la terraza medio llena , siempre que voy es así,nunca se llena en ese horario, era mi cumpleaños así que agarramos una mesa porque tenía luces neon de fondo y corrió la mesera para quitarnos diciendo que no nos podíamos sentar ahí que porque esa mesa era para más personas, luego cambio y dijo que el restaurante estaba todo reservado cuando no era verdad porque en el tiempo que consumí ni un alma se paró en el restaurante... Nos señaló una mesa enfrente de la caja que estaba súper x cuando el restaurante estaba vacío,que por cierto quiero añadir que los meseros solo se la pasan hablando,no atienden, se la pasan bromeando, jugando y haciendo de todo menos atender...
