With less than the fingers from my right hand I can count the places in CDMX where you can eat a Knafeh, and probably, this one is the best.
Craving Knafeh is a small spot in Condesa where you can try an interesting offer of Middle East desserts and savory treats, like Halva, Baklava for the first type. Also you can enjoy a nice cup of turkish coffee with cardamom scent (or not) for these fresh spring nights .
In particular, I used to choose the Knafeh and the turkish coffee as the perfect combo to me.
The original Knafeh— which you can also choose in a variety of flavors (including one savory)— it’s a perfect match of butter, rose syrup and cheese (a kind of neutral taste cheese) with that traditional filo pastry used in arab cousin fried to the perfection. Literally you starts the kindly taste of melted butter and the crunch of the pastry, then to advance to the delicate savor of the roses till ending with the chewy cheese taste, plus another crunch from the toasted pistachios as the cherry at the top from a nice sundae.
Probably you could choose to share the portion of Knafeh to have the chance to taste another dessert like the baklava, but easily you could eat a whole by yourself.
The Knafeh and coffee (with cardamom) cost exactly $140MXN and $70MXN respectively by item. The price make the dessert plan an above the average experience, but...

My wife and I stopped by for a late treat and were instantly enchanted by the cozy, elegant atmosphere—soft lighting, Middle Eastern accents, and the kind of vibe that invites you to linger.
We ordered a latte, an Americano, and of course, their signature kanafeh. The coffees were rich and aromatic, brewed to perfection. But the real star was the kanafeh—crispy on the outside, gooey and sweet on the inside, with just the right touch of pistachio. It was a beautiful balance of texture and flavor that transported us straight to the streets of Istanbul.
The staff were warm and welcoming, and the attention to detail in both the food and decor made the experience feel truly special. Whether you’re a dessert lover or just looking for a serene spot to unwind, Craving Knafeh is a must-visit in...
Read moreThis is not Knafeh! The texture was okay, but the taste was nowhere close to a normal Knafeh. It was not sweet at all. The plate had a pungent smell. The smell of oil (vegetable oil?) was evident. Hope to visit again to eat a real Knafeh.
UPDATE Answering the owner's reply: I was with my boyfriend who is from Turkey when we tried your Knafeh. We had no problem with the texture, and the look of the dessert was okay. But the taste is nowhere near close the Knafeh made in Turkey. The syrup was not sweet, the cheese used in the dessert was not the right kind. We will eat at your place again soon and update our review...
