Don Core — Restaurant in Mexico City

Huge fan and follower of youtuber coreano vlogs & Wicho ❤️. We were here visiting Mexico City again from the U.S. Chicago, IL. We've visited mexico city a few times, we came last year and this restaurant wasn't opened yet so once Cristian announced the grand opening, we just had to make it our 1st priority to come visit on our visit here this year. We came on 8/23. The food was awesome, the service was great, great atmosphere. Great family environment, great place to come in a large group. We ordered a large sampler platter that was recommended by the waiter, along with 2 steak quesadilla which were HUGE and extra order of potatoes. The restaurant was everything we hoped it would be. We enjoyed ourselves very much. We will definitely be back again in our next visit. I totally recommend this place. 👍👍

Note: Also, there is a separate restaurant that occupies the front area which we didnt know when we walked in and we were almost seated to the wrong restaurant lol. Don Core is located on the back end once you enter the building, make sure your clear to which restaurant your there for when you enter.

Here is our experience We just landed from CUN to try Don Core We waited for an hour, during this time Dorian introduced himself and gave us the menu, wifi password and he offered to take the order for the beverages. The staff was friendly but we visited on a Sunday so therefore they were extra busy. I am not sure what Dorian's role is but once we have our table he made sure everything went smoothly and he checked with us so many times. Frankly we were starving,. luckily the food didn't take so long.

We ordered the Chamarro 7 Chiles and it was remarkably delicious. It was enough for 2 people.

For beverages: we got 2 jamaicas, they were tiny.

We also ordered the Longaniza gratinada from Veracruz, super delicious not fatty. The amount was generous for 2 people.

We ended up taking the Longaniza to go, and we were told that the tortillas will be extra price. It was reasonable 20 pesos.

The salsa tatemada was awesome! The downside it was that when we asked for more we were informed that they ran out of it. Boooo!

Well, overall great.

Downside: Accessibility. They only have bathrooms upstairs. I am not able to do stairs at the moment and when I explained the situation no solution...

He tenido una experiencia terrible en este establecimiento. Creo que jamás he dejado una mala reseña, pero está vez lo amerita. El sábado 5 de abril 2025 acudí para celebrar mi cumpleaños con 2 amigos, llegué a las 7:20 pm, mientras nos sentamos y llegó el mesero para pedirnos nuestra orden pasaron 7 minutos. A las 7:27 pm el mesero nos pidió la orden y nosotros solicitamos unos minutos más, a lo que el mesero respondió que teníamos 3 minutos para ordenar ya que a las 7:30 se cerraba cocina y a las 8 pm se cerraba el lugar (detalle el cuál NO se nos comentó al entrar) así que decidimos retirarnos. Ayer sábado 12 de abril 2025 nuevamente hicimos un intento por ir al lugar, está vez llegamos a las 6 pm para que no nos ocurriera lo anterior, primero al llegar y sentarme, la silla se rompió y caí al suelo, la hostess solo me cambio la silla, pero no me preguntó si estaba bien ni nada por el estilo, de hecho al cambiar la silla y todo ese proceso no me dirigió una sola palabra. Luego el mesero se acercó para tomar la orden a lo cual pedimos 2 minutos más. Cuándo volvió y ordenamos el primer platillo y resulta qué eso no estaba disponible y nos menciono que nada que tuviera puerco o se hiciera en parrilla estaba disponible (la mayoría de los platillos del menú) y nos mostró rápidamente cuáles no se podían pedir, pero al ser la mayoría del menú la verdad nos confundió mucho y no pudimos memorizar cuáles no estaban disponibles, a lo que terminamos pidiendo solo un vaso de pulque cada quién (el cuál estaba bien) y una quesadilla y una orden de picaditas. En la mesa que se nos asignó llegaba un ligero olor a sanitario, queríamos pedir que nos cambiarán pero los meseros no nos estaban haciendo mucho caso. La verdad terminamos por pedir la cuenta e irnos a otro lugar a comer porque la experiencia que estábamos teniendo era pésima. Teníamos mucha emoción y expectativas por acudir a este restaurante, en especial porque somos fans de Cristian, pero nos fuimos totalmente decepcionados, además recalcó que nadie jamás se acercó a ver si estaba bien cuando mi silla se rompió, no me pasó nada más que el golpe pero considero que almenos alguien debió preguntar,...
