An Enjoyable Stay at Casablanca Hotel in Mexico City
Rating: 5/5
I had the pleasure of staying at Casablanca Hotel for one night in late July 2023. The hotel's location, just around the corner from Revolution Square and within a hundred meters of Mexico City's main avenue, Paseo de la Reforma, was perfect for exploring the city's most famous landmarks, including the Revolution Monument, Angel of Independence, Diana the Huntress Fountain, and the Palace of Fine Arts. Public transportation stops for Metrobuses, trolleybuses, and tour buses were conveniently close by. The area also offered several Starbucks cafes, diverse restaurants offering breakfast and business lunches, pharmacies, the large Reforma 222 shopping center, and banks.
Check-in and Interior: Upon arrival, I reached the hotel three hours before the official check-in time. The staff informed me that my room would be ready in a couple of hours and kindly offered to store my luggage while I explored the hotel. Despite the delay, my room was still not ready at the official check-in time. However, one of the senior receptionists promptly solved the issue by upgrading me to a higher category room at no extra charge, which I gladly accepted. The room with a king-size bed featured ample workspace, a coffee machine, a sofa, and a TV with numerous channels. The staff was exceptionally friendly, courteous, and accommodating, and their fluency in English made communication effortless. The hotel boasted an aesthetic interior, and the rooms had a fresh and modern look. The rooftop offered an outdoor heated pool with a bar, providing a relaxing atmosphere.
Breakfast: Although my rate didn't include breakfast, it was available for a separate fee. The cost was $220 MXN per person, and guests could enjoy buffet-style dining also at any time, with a slightly higher cost of $250 MXN per person.
Wi-Fi Connectivity: The hotel's Wi-Fi was outstanding, with a consistent speed of around 100 Mbps, peaking at 170 Mbps. This reliable and high-speed internet connection made Casablanca Hotel an excellent choice for those who require fast internet for work/business or other needs.
Overall, my experience at Casablanca Hotel was delightful. The strategic location, attentive staff, modern amenities, and excellent Wi-Fi made it a memorable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to fellow travelers, and I look forward to returning on my next visit to...
Read moreWe have been at this properties twice beforehand and we have selected it due to it's wonderful location just a block up from the Monument of the Revolution. That would be my reason to recommend this hotel because it is very good in regards to getting around town. ||We checked in and all went normal as our room was ready and we went up to the room as we checked in late in the afternoon. As I mentioned we have been there twice before but no one mentioned anything along the lines of welcome back. ||Our room was a family master room but it was not worth the price of the up-grade. The room had a suana but did not really work well, as well as the bathtub and shower that never was more than just lukewarm. ||My main complaint is with the service at the front desk. No one stood out to help in general or even said hello when we would walk past in the evening or morning but there was one agent by the name Adriana that really was not helpful at all. Every time I requested anything she claimed that I had to be in the room to find a solution as far as fixing the hot water or requesting bathrobes. I actually felt she found pleasure to help minimally as possible. The last straw was when I requested a taxi for my check out and she shared with me that there were no taxi's as there was a prostest and that I had to walk about across the Monument of the Revolution but that she could not help me. I asked the bell attendant for my bags and they took around 20 minutes to get them to me. I asked him again if he could get me a cab but he said that it was not his job and if Adriana could not request it that it would be imposible. So there I was with my eight bags and just one of my daughtes and I crossing the famous monument. At the end we got an Uber and all was good.||Final note I would like to congratulate a very hard working housekeeper by the name Osiris that was very pleasant and made sure we had towels and the room was alway clean. ||In closing I don't belive this property is a total dud, but I do believe that they handle many large groups and do not cater to the regular familes or single room transit visitors. It's a shame but I belive next visit I will try a...
Read moreI try to be as fair as possible with my reviews…so here goes my opinion regarding Hotel Casa Blanca. Pros and Cons
Pros:
•Friendly staff…from the person who helped us with our bags, reception, cleaning crew, restaurant workers, and bartender Raful…great great service.
• It’s located about a mile to zocalo and there are several restaurants near by.
• the pool is heated.
• the terrace bar is relaxing, and Bartender Raful serves refreshing drinks. Good place to relax with family and friends.
• hotel can help you with taxis or transportation to airport.
• wifi worked great, my son was able to do school work with no issues. Netflix and YouTube worked flawlessly.
•Several power outlets in room.
• Decent size rooms
CONS:
•Like many people in other reviews have stated, the hotel is dated. I’m sure back in the 70s and 80s it was luxurious. But…the rooms and the hotel were CLEAN! And the rooms were updated.
•Beds were a little on the stiff side …too firm. If management reads this, please up grade the beds.
• If you are a light sleeper, take into consideration that the windows are thin and you can hear everything going on outside.
Would I recommend this hotel…mmm…if you got a good deal on price yes. Regular price probably not. First time travelers to Mexico City I would recommend something closer to Zocalo. Please check out my other reviews for recommendations if visiting beautiful...
