My previous experiences had been at the Insurgentes location of El Japonez witch had been amazing experiences regarding service, ambiance, food, presentation, quality… everything! Going for the first time to el Japonez Condesa was a complete, total disappointment. Japonez Condesa is completely deferent, this place is old and ugly, the quality, flavor and presentation of the food is so bad compared to the Insurgentes location, el Japonez Condesa is completely a different restaurant. El Japonez is pricey, but if you are in the Insurgentes location it’s worth it what you pay because of the quality of the place the food and the service, but in Japonez Condesa they have the same prices and due the the quality of the place and food it is not worth it! No going back to Japonez...
Read moreI’ll make this review as brief as I can because I can write paragraphs describing this godawful place. This supposed “Japanese” restaurant is no where near what it pretends to serve. Every employee there is so hapless that the disfunction is very evident by the way you’re served. The rice that they serve is super stale which immediately lets you know that it is reheated and old. Noodles with mushrooms ruined by too much sugar in sauce (or on the noodles) and there were large chunks of garlic mixed in the bowl. They appear to think that adding mayo and sweet flavor to everything is a plus, but anyone craving real Japanese food will be grossed out by excessive heaviness and/or sweetness. In fairness to the restaurant, we went there for New Year's Eve, and it's possible they had different cooks, but since they were closing early, I...
