We ordered a roll and a don, the food was at most edible, not good not bad. The don with chicken is bland, the avocado roll’s rice is loose. Good thing is the soy sauce and wasabi seem authentic.
One thing to say is their garlic oil is fire, pretty good.
While we were ordering I asked if I am getting the don with fried chicken, my Spanish is poor and was speaking English. The waitress nodded and took the order. Then she gave us boiled/pulled bland chicken. It’s not what I wanted but ok
We waited a long time for the check, waitress seems busy with other tables and disappeared several times.
The owner/chef who was squeezing sushi a second ago, finally came holding a POS machine and took my card. I can see ingredients on his hand while taking care of the check. It was pretty nasty IMO. I didn’t see if he washed his hands after returning to the work station but hey maybe my card and their POS are both immaculately...
Read moreCame in around 30-45 minutes before closing, waited to be greeted and then was asked immediately if we knew what was going to be ordered because the kitchen was going to be closing. Cool, order in. Watered down alc drink, whatever. Owner (who has been seen in tiktoks asking people to come in) stands at the doorway arms crossed staring at us for ordering. Food gets here, guess there was a misunderstanding, extra ramen was brought out. Server got a little caddy so whatever we’ll keep it. Food was undercooked, unseasoned and generally not good. Not to mention the owner kept hovering around waiting for us to finish when there were still 2 other tables eating. Cool. We dont eat the food, pay the tab and leave before 845. I’m from out of town and love to support local businesses. Especially if its authentic cultural food but I’m not okay with being pressured and felt like I’m an inconvenience. Would...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this place for years, maybe 2-3 times a year. I always held in high regard, the Japanese chef used to care about food. Tonight, and I don’t now if it’s because they opened two months ago after the pandemic shutdown, food was disgusting.
A very diluted katsu curry, came with rice, no veggies. The uni roll, deplorable. Sad eel sauce and the eel was cold and not firm. The Tampico (imitation crab spicy paste) had a foul smell. Just couldn’t eat it. The Horenso Gom ae was actually edible. Even the beer bottle smelled horrible.
The only reason I gave it a star is cause the server was friendly. If in the area and want Japanese food avoid this place and go to Tori Tori or Kura. What a shame what this...
