All they do here is try to upsell you on everything and get the bill as high as possible. So if you go, know this about the place and know that their recommendations are geared towards this. In fact, I asked for the bill and got bombarded with extra stuff. Do you want to try.... I actually thought they were offering me something for free as a kind gesture as I'd already asked for the bill. About what I ordered:

Margarita was so delicious! Simple, classic, just what I wanted. Perfect

Bread that came before the meal was stale and old tasting. The condiments were so delicious, though; I overlooked it!

Ribeye was not very flavorful and the worst I've had in Mexico City yet. Especially since I was talked out of ordering something less expensive. Something I spent 15 minutes deciding to order.

The waiters were very, very kind and obviously pressured by management to sell sell sell....get the check as high as possible. I felt for them and very much liked them but the system of the restaurant andanagement was all ego and profit. Quality of the product obviously reflected in the taste. Better product, Better taste. My third visit and I will find a better place to have a steak and done. I told the manager, who interrupted a conversation I was having with a staff member, I would not be coming back.

☹️ Disappointed because I really enjoyed my time there twice before. Onward....

I hope they focus on quality and not profit. Profit...

One night in Mexico City.

Went to the Wednesday night to watch the performance, Folkloric Ballet of Mexico by Amalia Hernández. The ballett featured the traditional outfits and the history of Mexico through stunning performance of 40+ ballet group members (not my image). With that many performers on stage you where experiencing a kaleidoscope of color accompanied by the thumping of booted feet hitting the stage, plus a group of mariachi player that where perfection itself.

Mexico is very art conscious so you are surrounded by public art, historic buildings, and part of this attitude is the love of the theatre and ballet. The *building the performers staged this event is basically a mind blowing architectural experience, inside and out. The theatre itself had some of the most stunning details I have ever seen.

*The Palacio de Bellas Artes is not just one of the most prominent buildings in the country of Mexico. It’s also the major Fine Arts institution for the whole country, and has been for decades. The Palacio is the headquarters of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL). They’re in charge of coordinating artistic and cultural activities (through policy and education) for...

I had a few meals here, and the experience was pleasant and the food of a good standard.

However at the end of my last meal, I paid with a card. The waiter clearly charged me twice and this appears on my bank statement. I showed the staff the statement and they were completely unresponsive and unhelpful. After having to speak to my bank, they confirmed that the merchant needed to reverse the payment or reimburse me.

I went back to the restaurant and they instructed me to wait one day and if the transaction had not been reverted, they would reimburse me. I waited several days and returned, and the staff were once again completely unhelpful, making me wait for one hour for the 'senior manager' to arrive. The manager then, point blank denied the conversation we had on Friday and said there was nothing they could do.

As of this moment, the situation remains unresolved and the restaurant has effectively stolen my money. The senior staff have no idea how to communicate with customers, and due to their intransigence and incompetence, I have wasted countless hours. Strongly recommend to avoid this place, unless you want to play double and then be trapped in a confusing...

I can't recommend this place. We went for a friend's birthday dinner last night and have to say the food was very sub par. I only ordered the ensalada provoleta and had a glass of the house white wine. The wine was not good and very overpriced. I paid $11 for the glass and I could barely drink two sips. The salad was just meh.. it tasted like a side salad to be honest. My friends ordered steak, which came out extremely rare (they ordered medium well). The provoleta is literally just a hunk of hot cheese. The bread they serve at the table is not good either. The only thing I really liked that I tried were the salsas (chimichurri, salsa Verde, and some other with beans and oil). Oh, and the chocolate cake for the birthday girl was good to me. Some said it was too rich, but I love chocolate so I felt it was delicious. So I guess, you could go for dessert and maybe a coffee or carajillo, but that isn't the point of this restaurant is it? I only got a pic of the cake, as you can see it's a good portion. As far as ambiance, it's hard to pinpoint. There are TV screens everywhere and old fashioned wood furnishings, so it kinda feels like a pub. Would not recommend for a date or group dinner. 😕

Even though the server, Andres, kept trying to upsell our orders, this was one of the best service we had while in town. He was friendly, knowledgeable and quick. And kept coming to check on our table. Argentinian food in a cool decor with even cool music being piped by Dj Marcelo Cav. Food was very taste and very plentiful so be mindful of that. We began with a small tasting of a broth that was brought from the chef which was a bit salty. Andres also brought over a small tray with three different salsas: a green salsa, a spicy red one and chimichurri. A small basket with bread and chips was also brought out. Then we ordered mollejas (sweet breads) and provoleta cheer with Argentinian chorizo as appetizers. The mollejas were delicious!! A must have!! Then the main course: bife de lomo (they have two sizes, go for the smaller one - it is enough) and an arrachera which was tasty too. Sides we ordered mashed potatoes, asparagus with shredded cheese in top and a cream of spinach. Mashed potatoes and the asparagus where the star of the side dishes. No room for dessert unfortunately so when we come back, we will have to get that.
