I had a deeply disappointing and concerning experience at this establishment. From the moment we arrived, the bartenders were noticeably rude, and their behavior worsened when they realized we were American. One bartender in particular, a man with tattoos, was especially disrespectful. After experiencing such unprofessional treatment, we decided to pay and leave. However, I quickly noticed that I had been deliberately overcharged. When I pointed it out, the bartender became even more hostile, making inappropriate comments. The situation escalated further when someone from the bar followed us outside, which felt incredibly unsettling and unprofessional. To make matters worse, after already being overcharged, I later discovered an unauthorized charge of $200 on my card. This was clearly an intentional attempt to take advantage of customers. I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge and secure a refund. This experience was not just unpleasant, it was unethical and potentially dangerous. I strongly urge management to address these issues, and I advise others to be extremely cautious when visiting this bar. Overcharging and fraudulent charges are serious offenses, and no customer should ever be treated this way.
Response to owners response:
Your entire reply is a fabrication, and I appreciate the chance to clarify for anyone reading. First, I did not arrive with a "party of four." There were other guests we conversed with while there, but at no point did I consent to cover drinks for strangers. Any competent establishment should confirm who is responsible for which orders before combining bills, not after the fact. Adding drinks to a customer’s tab without their consent is, frankly, unprofessional and irresponsible.
Second, I did not insult or threaten anyone, nor did I challenge anyone to a fight nor was I "asked to leave." I left of my own accord once it was clear your staff preferred confrontation over resolution. The attempt to twist this narrative into one of aggression is a transparent way to deflect from your team’s failure to manage a simple billing question with even basic courtesy.
Third, the irony of attempting to discredit me by implying I lack education is almost amusing. I assure you I’m likely one of the more well educated guests to have stepped foot in your bar, and this exchange only further demonstrates the absence of professionalism or accountability in how you choose to manage your business and respond to legitimate criticism.
To anyone reading: I encourage you to consider the tone and contradictions in the owner’s response before deciding whether this is a place deserving of your trust, your time,...
Read moreWe came to have cocktails—no food. We knew we were in a special place the moment we looked at the menu. Two pages are devoted to each signature cocktail, complete with whimsical illustrations, ingredients, tasting notes, and information about the figure after whom the cocktail was named, e.g. Luis Buñuel, Jack Kerouac, Tina Menotti, etc. The waiters gave us detailed explanations of how the cocktails were made. One in particular spoke with considerable pride about the concoctions we were about to be served, and his enthusiasm added to our...
Read moreGreat cocktails, great service, great atmosphere! The concept is pretty unique, the creative idea how this place was created, and they have great variety of house cocktails with different spirits, not only base in mezcal, and to each drink it’s own story and style. The service was great by everyone and the live music was perfect and groovy to the place so it wasn’t too loud so ppl can talk but present enough to give ppl privacy. The design is dark and intimate and they have around 9-10 tables but more place for ppl to...
