Nieve de Olla — Restaurant in Mexico City

Nieve de Olla, thank you. You made my day. My friend with whom I’m currently traveling, passed by earlier in the afternoon, sampled some things, and immediately messaged me saying we’d have to go back later. Well, we did just that and damnnnnnnn. I was a full 1.5 Mexico City blocks away and could smell the delicious goodness in the air. Funny, it was my nose that actually lead me right to the door! 😬❤️

The owner, Paulina, was so gracious in allowing us to sample many flavors, all of which are vegan, before I eventually decided on the ginger cookie atop her house made banana bread and vanilla with caramel crumble atop a superfoods chocolate bar 🤤. The ice creams were both knockouts but the bread and chocolate bar were as equally stellar. That chocolate bar is something serious...😃

NO COMAS AQUI SI ESTÁS BUSCANDO GLUTEN FREE. mentirosos!! dicen que todos sus productos son libres de gluten, pero no es cierto — y eso es un gran peligro para gente con enfermedad celiaca y alergias al gluten. si tienes celiaca, no confíes en ellos porque obviamente no les importa tu salud. liars!!! they say all of their products are gluten free, but that’s not true — and that’s a huge danger for people with celiac and gluten allergies. if you have celiac, don’t trust them because they obviously don’t care about your well-being. to nieve de olla - i gave you all an opportunity to correct your mistakes but you chose to ignore my questions. if you’re going to say that “all of your products are gluten free,” you have a responsibility to commit to that. you’re putting lives at risk because it’s obvious you don’t understand the seriousness of your lies. cross contamination is a serious health concern. hope you can sleep with your fresa business...

The best vegan ice cream I have ever tried! I tried the piña albahaca, and it was glorious—one of those moments when you can’t believe it’s vegan! I ordered it in a waffle cone, which was also a highlight.

Service was a bit slow, but the staff were friendly enough to explain their concept and the different flavors they had. Although they had run out of some flavors when I visited, I still managed to find one I loved after sampling a few.

When I paid, the staff member at the cash register had a bit of an attitude, but the ice cream (and the accompanying waffle cone) made me forget that sour encounter. They make their ice cream in-house, and they also have chairs inside and outside to enjoy your dessert.
