This is one place I didn't want to miss, after seeing it reviewed on YouTube. These "Breakfast Sandwiches" are amazing, and full of rich flavors. It's one of the most popular street food location in Condesa, and their sandwich is called a "Torta de Chilaquiles" (which is strange, as it isn't a pie or cake). This is basically a large "French Bread" roll, and in it is placed either chicken or pork breaded and fried cutlet.
We actually got there very late, which worked out GREAT, as the main crowd and lines we had heard about were gone. We were number three in line and were served almost immediately! We got the fried chicken "milanesa de pollo" with green sauce on a white bread with re-fried beans and sour cream. It's such an interesting mix of textures, the crunchy outer bread, soft bread inside, crispy chicken, and smooth beans, but all together delicious, and a real Taste of CDMX. Worth...
Read moreMust go! To be honest I didn’t think I was going to enjoy eating a torta with chilaquiles, but OMG. I’m so glad people kept telling me to go. I was also avoiding street food so I won’t get sick - so if you are a foreigner this place all good enjoy the food.
I ordered the torta de milanesa con salsa verde and it was sooo good! I should have ordered one with salsa roja too, but my friend said 1 is enough. Why did I listen to him!?!
The line was not bad for us, but I suspect that the soccer tournament had something to do with it and we only waited about 20mins. I’ve heard the line is way longer so plan accordingly, but you have to try at least once.
I have it 4 stars because of the milanesa would have been freshly cooked it would of gotten the extra star, just a limitation of the street...
Read moreWe decided we could not leave without trying for ourselves this highly recommended spot and it was good. We arrived early morning at about 8:15 on a Sunday and line was already a good length. We waited about 25 minutes before our turn; which I thought they were doing great in moving people along. We ordered a torta with cochinita pibil in red sauce. I was ambivalent if this was going to be good suspecting this would be served cold if likely many things are pre made but was pleasantly surprised they take good care of keeping ingredients sealed to maintain warmth. All in all I think you'll enjoy trying this unique torta. Staff is kind and prepare the food with pride and do not take for granted their popularity. Their torta at this time...
