Simply perfect, from the fun and bright look to the super welcoming and friendly owners/staff, and of course the perfect little dessert, which is more bites than it looks, the crust so flaky and chewy and filling that is so smooth creamy and just the right amount of sweet. The Chai Walla has incredible flavor, I had the cardamom and bought a bag to take home to our chai loving friend. And we haven’t even tried the chicken and mushroom ones we’re saving for breakfast that I’m sure will be just as incredible. Great experience! It has been attributed to Mark Twain, the famous quote that, the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco. For me I once joked that the best Texas barbecue brisket was actually in Little town in Louisiana. And I could joke that the best Portuguese pastry is actually in Mexico City.

And so, walking along Alfonso Reyes today I popped into the shop that had been closed the other night that they kindly just gave me one as a gift since they had already shut down their register.

And today was my return to enjoy a vegetarian one and a classic one, both exceptional.

I can’t speak highly enough. Tuga offered a delightful experience with its exquisite pastries (the pastis de nata are a must). The taste was unparalleled and can feel the commitment to quality and freshness. Moreover, the warmth and kindness of the staff added a personal touch, making it a truly memorable visit.
