Taquería El Greco is a true hidden gem in Mexico City, serving some of the most delicious and unforgettable tacos you’ll ever try. Located in the Condesa neighborhood, this unassuming spot specializes in tacos árabes, a flavorful fusion of Mexican and Middle Eastern influences that sets it apart from other taquerías in the city.
The taco árabe al pastor is an absolute must-try. The meat is perfectly seasoned and cooked to juicy perfection on a vertical spit, then wrapped in a soft, slightly crispy pita-style tortilla instead of the traditional corn tortilla. The combination of smoky, spiced meat, creamy avocado, and their signature salsas creates an explosion of flavor in every bite. Their gringas are also a standout—cheesy, indulgent, and packed with flavor.
Despite its casual and no-frills setting, the quality of the food here is top-notch. Service is fast, friendly, and efficient, ensuring you get your tacos hot and fresh. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or indulging in a late-night taco feast, Taquería El Greco delivers a truly authentic, flavorful, and satisfying experience. If you love tacos, this spot is an absolute must-visit in...
Read morePretty underwhelming place as other reviewers have mentioned. I am from the US with Mexican heritage so although I speak fluent Spanish I don’t appear it. Very rude service that definitely takes advantage of any tourist/foreign appearing people.
The person at the front was taking my order after ignoring me for a bit and took it incorrectly, meanwhile the cook behind him was preparing the order based off what he heard— no receipt in hand. When I corrected the waiter the cook began to mumble insults in Spanish about me. I shouldn’t have eaten after that but wanted to try the food. It itself was not great either and terribly mediocre. There is no excuse for eating a mediocre, overpriced, taco in one of the best cities in the world for tacos. Add rude, disorganized, service to that and you get a 1...
Read moreThis place is a classic, and well worth a stop if you've never been, BUT the quality of the meat is simply not as high as it should be. I always order the Gringas Doneraky (#1 on the menu) and the plates had more gristle than you might get in a fine place in Puebla. To me, the sign of a great taco is the quality of the meat. By American standards this is a six-star place, and if you are a tourist, it's a great place to stop at least once, but this is Condesa, so sorry, please serve better meat. And it is pricey, but every place in Col. Condesa is carissimo. As for the reviews about the staff, I've always found them to be super cool and accommodating, in spite of the...
