For the English speakers, I travel the world for work, and CDMX is one of my favorite places to meet clients and fill my belly. Porfirio's is an establishment that brings joy to ever growning gut, but also to my heart. Many restaurants in the area have excellent service and good food. Porfirio has an outstanding level of service I have yet to witness anywhere else in the world. The food was as described by the waiters (DELICIOUS AND JUICY). The drinks were also very good and the portions are generous. I took my time and read a solid 40 reviews on this restaurant (good and bad), but statistics do not lie in this case. I made the mistake of coming in a bit underdressed in a golf T and jeans. Normally, places similar to this will turn one away. This was not the case. The staff from the hosts to the managers were excellent gentlemen. I hope more restaurants around the world would "take a page from Porfirio's book". I will return, I will recommend and I will definitely keep ordering the Habanero sauce. I hope this helps and my best regards, Eric

It was very bad, we were waiting for just entradas and salsas 1.5 hour ! For our wine 50 min after we contacted 8 times our waiter and 3 times administrator. Tacos are very bad, 3 tacos with old meat 400 peso. The music is crazy starting from 7 pm you can not hear anyone and when we passing in taxi with windows closed we still can hear the noise from restaurant, it was really the loudest music in all Masaryk street that not what you expect when you just come to eat meat and drink wine. And I can not blame waiters just imagine to work in this environment all day with music like in night clubs all day, they even can not hear the orders…. They all look sad with headache and very tired…. Avoid at all costs! There is much better places even in Polanco. Food is overpriced and bad, they put very loud shots!! Shots! Shots! At 7:30 pm like in strip club. They don’t respect their workers to make them to work in this environment, I still have headache after just spending 2 hours in this restaurant from hell, just imagine working there….

This the 2nd time I've been here (1st time was last year). Food is absolutely to die for, the service this year wasn't great though. They sat us by the outside windows and it's almost like they forgot about us. Took forever to get drinks (we ordered them three separate times) and it wasn't until we asked what looked like a manager about putting in our order that the server finally came back. I THINK he was new because he seemed really nervous and kept forgetting us but once we got our drinks and order in it was smooth sailing. Definitely want to go back. Just making this review made me wish I could go have some of their steak... OH! They also have a mariachi come and play but because of where we were sitting we couldn't hear or see them (last year we even took pictures and video with them while they played). Lastly it was my buddy's bday so he got a fancy cake for dessert along with a Happy Birthday song.

While the food at this restaurant was enjoyable, it didn’t quite reach the level of being extraordinary. The standout dishes was the crema de elote, the vegetables and refreshing drinks. Unfortunately, the service fell short, with a somewhat lackluster experience from the waitstaff. The music volume was excessively loud, making conversation difficult. Additionally, two out of three main dishes arrived cold and needed to be sent back. On the bright side, the food was served promptly and when they brought the food back was hot. Other excellent thing was that the waiter split the soup to be able to share with 2 people. Recommended dishes: 1. crema de elote 2. Vegetables 3. Mole (be aware that this dish is a bit sweet and spicy- but it was yummy) 4. Jalisco drink was excellent. Please like this if you like my recommendation!

A disaster. Food is okay. The waiter asked whether we want to give 15 or 20 percents for the tip, ok I will forgive you for ignore the 10% choice. I said 15%, then, he actually charged us for 16% percent tips, like I can’t do the math. I know how the number on my bill multiplies 15% looks like okay? The most funny part, since I pay the bill and tips separately, he didn’t bring me my exchange until I asked for it. Dude, do you seriously think you can just pretend to accidentally charge me more tips and forgot to give me the exchange? It’s not a lot of money, but it’s just so rude and abusive like you are trying to rob money from each custom and begging them for more. FYI, I had to ask handkerchief five times and they finally brought me 2 pieces of tissue paper. 👍👍👍

Porfirio's Polanco delivered a memorable meal with dishes that genuinely lived up to their hype. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was tasty and set a nice tone for our meal. For mains, we chose the Picanha and Trompo al Pastor. The Picanha was delicious, though portions were on the smaller side. The Trompo al Pastor stole the show—it arrived on a charming miniature street-taco apparatus, making for a fun dining experience. Service was excellent throughout. One note: the atmosphere is extremely lively—bordering on deafening. If you enjoy a vibrant scene, you'll love it, but for conversation-friendly dining, I'd recommend asking for a quieter spot. Overall, a fantastic place with great food and engaging presentation. Highly recommended!
