#cocinajaponesa #japon #polancocdmx #descubriendopolanco #imperdible

Had no idea what I walked into - wanted to grab a quick drink had no idea this was a franchised club. Beautifully decorated but adorned with horrific sushi and even worse cocktails that look great but taste like garbage. Service and atmosphere was fantastic but it seemed like they had 8 servers to every one customer. It made zero sense.

They sent a WhatsApp to invite us to dine, in order to discover their menu and food. We were sceptical and clarified, before going, if this was a real food, which they absolutely confirmed. Well, we went there and the food was a sample of small dishes NOT INCLUDED in their menu, instead designed to cost very little and to pair extremely expensive potential drinks consumption. They were 4 small dishes. Starter was an insipid tuna roll ( One per pax ), then a kind of Mushroom Saute, followed by a vegetarian rice and, a desert that was a kind of revisited pavlova. Each extremely small dish was aimed to be shared in 2. At the end, one of our friend was angry, ordered some food. All is made on purpose to attract you with an invitation you think, as a foodie and good restaurant client, to genuinely let you discover their food offer ( As they opened recently ) and you fall down in a plot thought to scam you! Then came the bill, there were stated our paid consumption ( Around 4200 Mexican Pesos ) and they also highlighted all the food they offered you with its exaggerated price, the total of it , minus the équivalent discount. This is just to show you how much they delighted you ( In our case it was 2700 Mexican pesos in 7 = Around 20 USD / Pax ). This is indeed aimed to let you pay the service charge on it. Means, you pay service charge on your ordered consumption more on the price of the offered menu! But that was unfortunately not all! Upon paying, they charged my card at the table and came back 5 mins later saying they haven t charged me. Hopefully my bank app is in real time and I could easily prove it was already paid, which after 5 minutes of confusion, they admitted. Thus, the scam was ending by a double charge, hopefully I didn t drink that much and I was lucid enough to cross check! The result of these dinner invitations is a huge SCAM. It is intended to attract customers for their low-attendance evenings and for this they offer them an absolutely mediocre menu and worse than anything, not nourishing. The idea, extremely malicious behind all this is to attract you to consume over-billed drinks (at a totally crazy price) and to make you pay for the service. This establishment has a thug approach, we will report it to the...

My two business partners and I went for drinks on a Saturday night. We are all women. We were sitting at the bar speaking a mix of English and Spanish among ourselves and waiting for our cocktails when one of the women walking around to entertain guests walked over to us and asked in English if we had a problem. Confused we said no and assumed she was asking if we needed anything as we waited for our drinks. She then responded "Then why do you keep looking at me?". She was hostile and confrontational and continued to accuse us of staring at her, wanting an explanation from us, and strangely enough, to escalate the situation. I called a manager over and explained what took place and we left the establishment.

For what this place charges, it is unreal that they would allow this level of harassment from insecure staff.

Do not recommend at all, particularly for women as the female staff are clearly only interested in being kind to male patrons and will not doubt to be confrontational and hostile...

Food was absolute trash. Literally, every dish we ordered was 300% too salty (how do you mess up miso soup?). Service was also horrendous. The wait for our food to arrive was an eternity, and each person's dish arrived at different times. Finally, when the food arrived, the servers didn't even know who ordered what and which dish was which. In the end, a vegan roll that was ordered was introduced as a rainbow roll and served to the wrong person, who ended up eating it. This led to another 20 minute wait for them to bring out another vegan roll. To top it all off, there was no apology (in fact, their insinuation was that it was out fault) and they charged us twice for the vegan roll. It's definitely one of the worst experiences I've ever had in...
